That's a really good excerpt. Is it your creation?

And I see how you take inspiration from the comments. Someone previously asked the non-human monsters got their names, and now it's in the story.

Do plants have genders? Well, it's complicated. Some do some don't. And for some it's even more strange. I think ferns have two different stages with one being asexual and so on. But I only heard about that stuff. From my uneducated opinion, I would say, roses are bisexual.

Those hunters have no sings of fear. Normally this would turn out into a horror movie quite quickly. But besides the a bit too emotionless adventurers the chapter was really entertaining. View More

DolphinMafia: I want the legion to see the colony and village existing side by side because their face will be hilarious to see but also don't want them to see it since they'll only see the colony as monsters (ant monsters to make matters worse) even though they saved a lot of human lives

I'm pretty sure Tiny is annoyed about the mana drain and he gets some kind of resistance/heal ability. But the one kind, where he can use brute force to heal. Like an healing punch or a electroshock regeneration. View More

Although both are good stories, I like this one better. And I think it is good for you as an author to have use two different writing styles. So I'm for keeping this third person view. View More

A bit of a relaxed chapter after an intense fight (I just read all 7 invasion chapters in one go) is quite necessary. View More

The fight so far is quite good. I just have two small problems.
1. The fight scene between when the artifact is used to spawn shades and where the demon goes through his power up is confusing.
2. Why is a person as powerful as the guild master not capable of seeing through the carpet bombing and the projectile used to kill the shade using the compacter spell? Especially the second one. I even doubt, that the height at which the projectile is dropped from is enough to kill a reinforced shade. View More

ExodusGaming555: I have lots and lots of ideas but no time to make them.
For example an undead that use axe and dagger, have space and shadow abillity, and he will be an existence like a boogeyman.

A tank who have gravitional abillity

A tank who have healing and curse abillity

A mc that will be a true devil(not the racial kind of devil, but a moral devil, a devil was a being that always stay true to its morals and nature, it will do whatever he wants that he deemed right. unshakable and uninfluenced by others)

An mc that have friction control

Etc

Lorus03: Not a plot hole but I got something I want to say. When Amelia asked mc's name. I noticed one important fact. How did the monsters got names? Mc got name from his previous human life. but how did Amelia got her name? Others trees and all the monsters so far don't have or never shown to have names. Do they give themselves names once they reach certain intelligence? Or were they given names by some passed by demons?(you know what i mean) I think this point should be clarified later. This will be a very big part of the monsters' social system. Also. I said previously. You get all the points and xp by killing others but the prey may be eaten or not. I think eating the prey or not should make a difference in xp and points in later stronger monsters or humans. For example. in most chinese novels. comsuming blood essence of strong monsters boost the cultivation speed. (@#$% keyboard! can't type comma!)

Shadow and Space ability is my favorite. But I wouldn't pair it with a undead. I would pair it with an eastern fantasy novel. And I would add transformation/shape shifting as a third ability.

So the MC can take on different faces for spying. He can look like an animal or a stone when he has to hide or run away and when he fights he turns in a werewolf. View More

ExodusGaming555: Writing Novel is never been easy. You need that inspiration and also that motivation to strive forward. A writers block is very usual for writers but the key thing is be observant to anything and everything.

Anything can be a novel, but the key thing is never give up regardless the plot holes we realize and are trying to fix constantly lol

Hi X237

I just thought about a topic, that might be interesting for you.

You probably know about magnetic fields. But that is not the only field in physics. There is also the electrical field, the gravity field and also a few lesser known ones. You are probably most knowlegable about the magnetic field. But it has a limitation, which not all fields have. Did you ever hear of a monopole? A magnet always has two poles. But not every field is the same in that aspect. Electric fields can have a positive pole (one side of the battery) and a negative pole (the other side of the battery). But it does not neccesarily need 2 poles. You can just load a ball of styrophom with loads of electrons. And that would be an electical monopole. And with gravity, we only have matter and no antimatter. So we basically only have gravitional monopoles. And why do I want to explain you what fields and monopoles are? It has to do with how your mana spreads.

On earth, fields are very useful. It can even be applied to things like the lighting of a room. To visualize the way works, Lamps are probably quite suited.

The most basic form a lamp you can have is a point-light source. Every lamp has the property of a point-source, if you just are far enough (the distance is several times of the size of the lamp). As you know, the farther you go away from it, the darker it gets. But do you know what the relation is? The Intensity of the light is equal to the brightness of the lamp multiplied by the transparency of the medium (air or water) devided by the distance squared (I=E*d/r^2). And that same thing can be applied to every kind of field. Of course if the form of the field is different (for example two planes of different poles opposite to each other) then the intensity changes differently as well. Normally, a point-source is quite fitting. If that isn't the case, things get difficult quite quickely. So I would go with that for your story.

But if you go with that we have a little problem. You said, that a mage can choose the width of his magic view. The smaller it is, the denser the the magic. That is different than what I just explained. I have a solution for that (which you perhaps already thought of). A mage has a certain amount of mana that he can influence around him. Let's assume he wants to spread his mana as far as possible. Then it's like the simplified formula I described above. The more mana they have, the farther they can go. But if they want to use the mana a bit more closely, the mana doesn't follow that formula anymore. Or to be more precisely it looks pretty much the same as that formula, but it is cut off at a certain point.

Sometimes it is easier to do these kind of things grafically. So I made a quick drawing: https://photos.app.goo.gl/YZyBc4SgQL1j3HYg6

X237: Well yeah. I sort of realized if they didn't do so that Adimir probably would just hang around waiting for the enemy to come to him so he can kill them with the stone machine gun. Which wouldn't have been as good.

It was an entertaining fight. But even though that I agree that Anthony, sorry Adimir, should have a few funny ideas he should not be the only one coming up with them. As you said before, he never fought for real. In my opinion, the leader of the caravan should know how to build traps and how to organize his troupes against a small army. Unless of course adventurers never fight against organized foes. But even if that were the case, they should still be creative enough to know what efficiency is. After all their live depends on it. I thought I'd give you a bit of insight into the sonar of our world.
You probably already know that light is a electromagnetic wave. And it has a fixed speed, but the wavelength is not fixed. The color green has about 500nm, far-infrared (which is used in termal imaging) has about 1000nm and microwaves have about a wavelangth of a few inches.

Now if we want to use any wavelength for looking at stuff we have to pay attention to two things.
1. The transparency of air in that frequency.
2. The size of the object you want to detect.

The Transparency of air can be a problem, but it is not that interesting for your novel.
The size is more interesting, if you want to detect something. When the object is much bigger (and has a flat surface) then it reflects the wave, when the object is similarly sized, then the wave gets absorbed and turned into vibration (that is sometimes equivalent to heat) and when the object is much smaller then the wave will proceed as before. If you have a big object, with a rough surface (the bumps are about the size of the wavelength) then the wave gets scattered into many directions. That's how muted colours are created (the opposite would be metallic colors).

Radar also sends out many measurement points and receives them individually. That's why the the radar antenna is rotating.

Armed with that knowledge we know, that your sonar spell has a tiny "wavelength" (because it can detect bacteria), the air is very transparent, he can stop the midst of their traveling and the resolution of this spell is gigantic.

By the way this works with anything that has waves. Be it, Radiation, Sound, Water or even grains. So if your mana can generate waves and if it follows maths, then it would work the same. View More
