I don’t disagree, but more than it being boring. I think the pacing is just a little off due to it being one chapter a day. Each chapter needs to be more meaningful and a lot of the last few have felt filler-ish.

I hoping since time is a circle he would be able to just fly back since there didn’t seem to be anything actively preventing him from doing that. Now he may not be able to go back in the same point in time but anywhere close/before the team completes the nightmare would be fine.

Him being needed or not is both irrelevant and not necessarily proven. The only reason we have come to this assumption is we are believing what Cassie told him that he isn’t needed…..even that aside even if he isn’t needed his presence would undoubtedly make life easier and change the mathematics regarding the cost of victory. Maybe he isn’t needed to win but someone gets maimed that wouldn’t otherwise. Not to mention anything other than showing up is still abandonment and reneging on all the promises leading up to this point

Yeah I call bs…..So you are meaning to tell me that Sunny goes to the estuary gets his wish and there is no repercussions at all? What if the the most direct way he is free is the spell just killing off Nephis or significantly weakening her? Also Cassie saw all of this but doesn’t know what the outcome of this conversation will be? How does Sunny or the reader know this isn’t her attempting more manipulation? If she knows Sunny won’t go, does the well of wishes even have to exist? Does she just have to say it does? ……. Sigh this is why you don’t manipulate people once you do and get caught or f-up even the base things you do follow with question marks. Sunny thinks of Cassie as family and I’m sure he wants to believe her. He wants to be with the cohort, but it’s not like it is being made easy. Amongst them he is the only one getting played with BY THEM intentionally or otherwise.

Looking back, that speech was really out of character for the quiet, reserved young woman. Sure, she had been putting on a show to give the people of Fallen Grace hope. But why did it seem that Cassie had been much more alive… much more herself in those few moments than ever since?

Dragging at little. Also I get the initial part regarding not wanting to use the system. The problem is that he is also relying on information from someone from a lower world vs someone from a higher world (he doesn’t know that part) but the system has already showed him that relying on information from them could be wrong and may force him to have to take a step back to correct his problems.
