I agree wholeheartedly! I was able to last up to Ch.1244... the exorcism and ghost stories in this novel are great (well written, descriptive, and reminds you of the old school Chinese ghost stories and superstitions). But the ML is such a huge turn off that I have to drop this. He's controlling and has a terrible temper (including to the "love of his life" ). *spoiler* At this point he had just told her to break up, she finally accepts it as truth, he heard she cried over him and he comes running back. She avoids his call for the day, he gets so crazed with rage that she is too afraid to tell him that she's over the relationship. As of Ch.1244 ML is delusional and then she's crazy about him and FL is too scared to tell him that she's too hurt and scared to be in the relationship anymore. Yeah, so no longer a fun-light hearted read when it revolves around a mentally and physically abusive relationship. I was trying to see other's comments and hope that things will turn for the better and ML realizes how badly he treats her sometimes, but I have found any ray of hope. 😫 so this is my sad good bye to a novel that could have been really special but I'm too repulsed to continue 😭 If anyone has read past Ch.1244 and feels that ML/FL relationship does get better, please let me know and perhaps I will grit my teeth and continue.
