The MC is hollow like a puppet manipulated by plot he doesnt have much personality and there is barely any subtsance to this. No unqiue plotline or something like that, unsatsfying face slapping, retarded decisions, like wth. The only face that got slapped while reading this was my face, I could not swallow the BS while I was reading this, since I found myself facepalming everytime. The characters were so underwhelming like imagine putting a good drink on a bathtub filled with water. Thats how stale this novel is. I found it funny how one commentor said this is like the lord of mysteries, is he kidding cuz this dont look like Lotm. Its like a TV show for 10 year old. With a thick assed plot armor. Flat characters, weak story line. I have nothing else to say.

Im not sure if the plot style changes in the future but based on what I seen, the MC barely struggles, he had that cicada bug that neglects his status as a low grade cultivator, making him an efficient cultivator so he's the best in his class. So the low grade cultivator status is just there so that other people can piss and look down on the MC. Regarding the schemes in the story, they only work because the characters are like machines that abide like AI on the rules. They are too polite and dont even think of retaliating against the MC for some reasons which I find not satisfying. So i can definitely say its plot armor. MC also makes terrible decisions like out of character moments that would attract suspicion. Yeah I can accept that he is evil, but it would be more fun if he kills people in the shadows. He only gets away with it because the people are too braindead to think outside of the box. Not to mention, the sheer coincidence the MC's decision always makes which in the future will back him up so he can swim through the trouble he is in. None of the previous mentioned were his plan just like when he visited the merchant's brother and gambled. Lots of coincidence there that needed to happen to make his psychoanalysis work against the merchant. Ive seent his sitaution a couple of times that happened several times in a row. But if I wanna talk about realism here, this MC would have been already dead if he was in A song of fire and Ice world. As I said its only good in enjoyment, but close to perfection not very much.

Enjoyment its good but there are glaring plotholes in this stuff, plot armor is also unbearable.

Now I wont revere this novel like the others cause I have some problems with this novel. In my opinion the MC js like the gary stu of evil characters, he is good at everything and overcomes everything with some plot convenience and getting helped by the author, also he is evil. If not for the fact that he is evil he would barely be any different from the other gary stu MC's. Oh he,s a low grade Gu mastee, but he is weak and needs to be powerful and he needs to work hard and needs to know what struggle is. Well nah, here's the bug that would let you become the most efficient student. Second problem is the plot armor around the MC, the authorities and elders let this dude extort his classmates. But we were given bullshit reasons to spare the MC from dangers, these justifications are made logical by some wishwashy words, long ass conversations and lengthy explanations. But keep in mind that they are also strict when it comes to clan regulations but when things like this happens in broad day light they let them go. Well, they are only strict and abide to it if it only helps the MC, otherwise **** the rules, let the MC do what he wants. Not to mention the levels of psychoanalysis done by the MC is unbelievable becauae either they are too coincidental or that he can read their minds. One or two this occurs that is acceptable but this happens on every encounters. He outsmarts everyone with words, by relying with coincidental events and situations and manage to let the story flow to his own accord. He even never struggles as though fate is working for him. Not to mention, the MC is protected by plot armor that all they could do is to accept defeat. People revere this work that only in this novel where the antagonists are smart and isnt dumbed down. Meh, the antagonists are obviously too polite to retaliate on Fang Yuan, for plot reasons. He killed two guards, one slave some people and family in some villages. He also embarassed several elders and his brother in front of many people. Somehow thats okay because (insert rules here that would avoid them from retaliating against Fang Yuan) but Fang Yuan can easily do this stuff even though only a bit more move and cunningness they can retaliate against him. Its good but people are overrating this work than what it really is. And I havent reach that far and dont plan to continue since this is basically wishfullfilment for the MC.

It was an okay read. But its kinda below average for a zombie novel. There is no sense of tension or fear when reading this and instead of putting up a frightening scene or atmosphere, the author decided to push some info dumps in your throat. It was okay if the info dumps was original but the it was the big baddie government and the failed experiment virus. When setting up a zombie novel the author should have put some tension like show the victims its impact to the world and stuff. They were only mentioned but it relied on just telling aspect which was kinda underwhelming in my opinion.
