With Luca's return it now fell on his shoulders to silence the old fool. Ridding himself of his father and proving his dedication to the family business which was bigger than any one man were now his responsibilities. This was something his father had drilled into him as a child. Therefore, Luca was even more ruthless than his father. Luca had him strategically executed and when the dust settled and he was the new Don, he slayed the men that disloyally left his fathers side. He had no need for those that switched sides at the drop of a hat. With his empire at a standstill from all the deaths, he organised a coup in the Sandriga's Mafia group. The Torello's and the Sandriga's had been at each other's necks for generations. And Luca realized it was time to end the unspoken truce both families had formed from years of avoidance. When they came for his head, he had the first son of the Sandriga family kidnapped and his severed head sent back to them. The Don Sandriga, blinded by revenge, sent all his men on a worldwide manhunt for Luca, who was disguised as a waiter in the Don's very home. Infiltrating their home from within, the Torellos defeated the Sandrigas and declared their victory by executing their Don. Therefore, Luca became the head of both families by wedding the younger daughter of the Sandriga family. All this power went to Luca's head and he let his men do anything they wished, they could terrorize any people, sleep with any woman with or without her consent.

It really is crazy that Luca has become the one thing he despised as a child: the epitome of his father, but even worse. And he was aware that he would become this person as well, but I guess at age 27, he no longer remembers how he felt about his father at 12. Or if he does remember, he is understanding of the fact that fear is necessary for order

The fact Luca is aware that he’ll one day have to hold the position his father does (and also act the way he does), but still have enough conciousness to understand it’s wrong is so cool. It really makes Luca a more dynamic character. Im excited to see how this progresses

Luca was finally forced to turn around. He was forced to look at the sinister and designer suit-clad man he had grown to despise. Yet, Luca knew he himself would turn into that man one day.
