Writing because I got tired of waiting for chapter updates. Now I never have to wait to know what will happen next! Or at least that's what I thought until my characters started acting on their own!

mc is going to be the guy that makes a large number of "small" transactions and sent be able to figure out how his wallet is empty later. it was less than 500k that he earned from the gambling, between his storage ring, paying Lilith, buying the house, buying his equipment, his miscellaneous purchases, and this meal, he probably doesn't even have 200k left.

The meal had cost Xiao Lin over 10,000 New Dollars, but he did not even feel anything at such a small sum. The card An Fumin, the casino boss, had given him back then was used. Other than what he paid Lu Renjia, he was also missing 150,000 New Dollars, which was probably used to buy the house for Ibeiya.

I don't get how they keep getting this wrong ... As far as I'm aware, 0-9 all have specific characters in Chinese (though 0 didn't used to exist) it's like these translators can't decide whether the number does starts from 0 or 1, which is a common problem in programming, but it shouldn't be in language.

When the instructor for this class walked in, Xiao Lin was speechless. It was a familiar person: the captain of the Seventh Regiment, Yu Mei. He could not believe that she had rushed back from the New World to teach a class. He began to suspect that the woman might have just been bored because there was no one in the regiment.

at least the author finally got a paradox right 😆

Xiao Lin had no way of answering this question. Even if Silverlight were here, she would not be able to answer it. It was like whether the chicken or egg came first--a time paradox. Xiao Lin did not know how to explain.

I think somehow Earth is covered even without a tower similar to the separate spaces they have their exams in

Those monsters were Poseidon's Guardians. Although the perennial sleep had caused their strength to drastically decline, only Silver-ranked soldiers could be dispatched from the Academy to Earth. Therefore, the battle was brutal and casualties were heavy. Of course, under the influence of the law of resurrection, they merely lost their lives.

author failed astronomy too XD

If that symbolized the sun, and they made their guesses from that, Xiao Lin quickly figured out another surprising coincidence. There were eight orbs revolving around the diamond in the center, all with different colors, which coincidentally represented the eight planets in the solar system. The deep blue one was obviously Mercury, and the light blue one Earth, the yellow one was Saturn. The furthest orbs had icy, half-transparent looks, which as far as Xiao Lin knew, represented Uranus and Neptune, which were covered in ice.

definitely a downgrade

He had to acknowledge that Mao Tianying received a big sum of money on that occasion. He remembered that the cell phone he received the last time around was an old Nokia, but it had upgraded right up to Apple.

it's the soul mark, not his race, that allows him resurrect. else the dragon blood would already cause a problem. honestly, I'm only seeing upsides to him becoming a vampire. the downsides of a high protein diet and slight sunlight weakness are too tame. if anything, the possible stigma attached to the race is the worst part.

Xiao Lin spread out his palms helplessly. Although that was what he said, an inevitable thought flashed through his mind. If Dawn Academy really wanted to abandon him and Lilith, and if the dense death energy continued to linger in the air for a long time, perhaps becoming a vampire was a good alternative to starving to death there?

The math is right, but you're right, he used the wrong starting value for strength. Author is very bad about consistency.

Under Miracle, he could convert 50% of his other attributes to any one attribute. His current total was 101 points, and his Strength attribute was at 26. Thanks to Miracle, his strength momentarily increased to 63, basically giving him an immense advantage.

because the author went a really stupid route and made the law of reincarnation take effect in the simulations. Prior to the law, simulations didn't cause death. It makes zero sense. I really like this author's storytelling, but they do some things that break immersion because the things are so mind-bogglingly stupid. I don't think the author really understands VR or Space-time. As a result, it really hurts those of that do. They probably watched some Sword Art Online and wanted to have their VR have the death consequence, but the reason for the death consequence is really lacking compared to Sword Art Online. In SAO, the headset kills people because of the series' antagonist. In this book, somehow a natural law, is crossing into a completely fictional world and taking effect there. What's worse is the author never explains why the monthly exams are any different than the training rooms. None of the mechanisms make sense. I would almost think that the scenarios are actually a real separate space they are being teleported to and somehow, all the entities and environments are being created to support it, albeit temporarily. except that it has already been established that spatial travel is accomplished via trains through wormholes. They are clearly teleported somewhere, though. All in all, it's very poorly explained how the simulations are both fake and real. The author wrote in circles in the chapter they tried to explain it. This is also something that really should be explained by the instructors within the first week, but so far, we've only gotten the non-explanation from Song. I'm 99.9% sure the author just really wanted the death effect on a fake reality and went about it extremely poorly, leaving us in this awkward scenario where we question why fake things are having real consequences. the inconsistency is annoying, too. The author seems to be leaning towards equipment being destroyed during the exams and physical problems remaining ... but if that's the case, why isn't a good chunk of the class half-naked from some of their very thorough deaths? The main character died, why would any physical problems remain after being resurrected? why is their equipment teleported with them in a resurrection? lots of inconsistencies and holes.

The first thing he did was take a refreshing hot bath. Although there was sufficient supply of fresh water in the fortress, the orcs did not have the habit of preparing a bathhouse, and going without a bath for more than a month was unbearable even for a man.

why not just sell more new dollars?

Li Meiling's class also gave Xiao Lin an idea. He gave a call to Lu Renjia that afternoon, saying he wanted to change up the order and cancel a few things. He needed the points to buy some magical scrolls, which Lu Renjia was obviously not too happy about.

author should have a better mechanism to prevent modern weapons of mass destruction. This isn't time travel. No paradox is being caused. They're just on a different planet. The only thing that may introduce instability is the wormhole. But the way that would happen is in witnessing an event that impacts Earth or Norma from the other planet and warning the other about it, but by sending the warning through the wormhole, you are warning them before the event has occurred. (I can't remember the reasons why. the diagrams made my brain hurt) In any case, bringing tech to Norma would have no effect, especially since it is more durable than Earth. The previous example of academy students breaking space-time on Earth at least made sense. but if Norma can put up with super-powered humans, then it can also handle a nuke. He should've stuck with his example of the wormholes having problems with electrical stuff, forcing the academies to send items through disassembled, and that nobody could be bothered to do the reassembly. even that falls apart, though with the advanced central computer, scenarios, and phones. even if they are all powered by magic instead of tech, that means there are clearly people smart enough and willing enough to decipher any differences in natural law that would prevent them from assembling nukes. I get that not every author is a scientist. At the very least, they should know time paradoxes are caused by time travel, not by wormholes, or simply existing on another planet. And the contradictions. Even if you have bad science, at least be consistent. An academy can't both create a bunch of high-tech things that work in the new world and also be too lazy to create high-tech things that work in the new world. You don't want nukes in the new world? cool, Norma's magical field interferes with the sensitive tech that makes nuclear bombs work, and no one has been able to find a workaround yet. Now, the elites in the academies aren't lazy and the reaso the tech doesn't work is magic based instead of science based ... magic, the author is in control of

"Of course they do!" Song Junlang let out a sigh, then thought for a while before explaining, "Logically, anything that does not belong to this planet would trigger ripples in time and space when brought over. However, the impact varies from object to object. If you imagine the space-time continuum as a lake, then something like a hat or shampoo would be like a paper falling into the lake, causing very minimal effects. If you brought in something like a submachine gun, then it would be like throwing a huge rock inside, and there would naturally be more ripples."

they're using limestone with a water based defense? limestone gets dissolved by water. they won't have streets for much longer.

Walking down from the platform, Xiao Lin finally properly stepped into New Washington. The streets were made out of limestone and very wide. The sudden downpour from earlier had washed the city abnormally clean. The teleportation platform was built close to the center of the city. This was the busy area of the city, but there were not many people out and about at the moment, probably scared away by the dragon earlier.

those still have 5 inside, which are core components of power supplies

They did not stay any longer and quickly set foot on another carriage. It was almost the same as the one they took back to Earth. The door was closed and the inside became completely dark. Song Junlang explained to Xiao Lin that no lighting facilities were installed because it was in the wormhole, and anything remotely similar to a power supply would simply fail to work.

so they were all kidnapped and drugged essentially

"Yes. The admissions notice was used to gather you at the teleportation point first. You were then thrown into this transdimensional carriage and brought to the academy. The process is slightly more complicated, but if you're interested, you can ask the Admissions Department's head."
