I don't think Donovan found out about him until he went to veteris before the massacre and probably saw the similarities of his mother in him and started questioning around town and that's how he found out...so it's kind of hard to shame Donovan on this because he never knew Rome existed if that's the case. Also technically Rome is half breed but I would consider him a pure blood equal to the elders and who really knows how they became vampires, but he is pure blood cuz he wasn't technically turned to a vampire he was born one....I would say that Donovans blood just triggered his vampire side and I would bet regardless of how or when Roman died he wouldn't have actually died but turned into his vampire self.

I think he was putting up a facade by saying that, cuz then he instantly started thinking about her again. he's gotta keep up with his bad boy, dark sadistic act in front of everyone else.

I don't think what he did makes him a jerk, I actually respect him a little more, think about it he clearly was falling in love with her and he obviously didn't want her to share the dark life he has so in return he left her so she could live out her days in hopes she would have a better life and meet someone whom was human to fall in love with and carry on with her life as normal as possible. it's unfortunate for the events that happened after Donovan left but not his fault. They say sometimes if you love something set it free and that's exactly what Donovan was doing, I don't believe for one second he was doing it for selfish reasons and of course he won't admit to having a special bond with a human to anyone.

Because the way I'm reading it is Donovan is his biological father meaning Donovan had a sexual relationship with his mother and she got pregnant with Rome by him but she also probably had a relationship with Lord Moltenore as well and just told him that he was the father. I am starting to think Romes mother was possibly a prostitute that worked at maybe a brothel back then that was common with lower class women who struggled.

well I would say that partially explains why Rome is different because he was already born half vampire and then completely turned after he died, his fate was already made up before he even knew vamps existed!!! Rome is gonna be angry when he finds out hopefully he can keep it together for Julie and not go all ripper. This is explains why Donovan was already so attached to him when he showed up before the massacre. I'm guessing Rome is something more because he was probably the first and only born vampire!

it would make sense with how protective he is of Rome. So if this is the case I can now assume after Donovan loving Opaline and seeing how much Roman loves Julie that he will also protect Julie and make amends for not being able to protect Opaline.

okay huge question does Knox mean like literally Roman is Donovans biological son or did he mean by saying he's yours meaning he's is his turned personal vamp?!?!?! Maybe Donovan and Knox are brothers and Donovan was a warlock that got turned into a vampire so maybe just maybe Donovan is Julie's uncle?!?! I know far fetch just grasping at straws here to have something for him to become an ally of Julie's hahaha

Okay so Donovan isn't her father hmmmm....I was kinda hoping he was but I still feel that there is some kind of connection with her and Donovan....maybe Donovan and Knox are related?!?! Also if Donovan got pulled into Willow Creek wouldn't that mean he has to be some kind of warlock vamp hybrid that has something to do with with opaline for it to open!?!?! WELCOME BACK ASH! I have a feeling Lisa is gonna come back home and cause trouble between Talia and Damon whether it be her getting feelings for him and try squeezing Talia out or putting negative thoughts in Talias head about Damon finding his mate and him leaving Talia.

I wonder if Enoch IS Mortimer ....maybe it's his last name, we know Dennis is a lot older than Roman so maybe he has been working for him for centuries and he has been for gathering hunters for centuries to take veteris and trying to get Julie to his side to unlock willow creek to get Enoch out 🤔

Amazing chapter, seeing Roman be respectful to Opaline and stating that she will be his mother in law, love those moments that Roman thinks about his future with Julie, and now I'm wondering if him and Julie will be able to have children in the future since he has a beating heart and since Opaline mentioned her not being able to see her grandchildren and her children getting married. Now as for Julie's father I still believe it is Donovan or one of the other elders for several reasons 1. Opaline says something about their relationship just not being able to work out or not meant to be so im guessing it's a vampire since witches and vampires weren't meant to be together back then 2. Donovan and the other elders have a beating heart, if there is a beating heart then I would assume that other "organs" work properly as well as their fluids lol 😆 3. Donovan has talked about his past love briefly 4. When Donovan and Enoch went to Willow Creek, Enoch was interested in killing the witches for power and Donovan was more interested finding Opaline....maybe because she is his lover and he heard she was pregnant or maybe he didn't know ....too many signs that point to Donovan but there's always that feeling of its not always what it seems. If Donovan is her father, I have a feeling he gifted Opaline that necklace and he will recognize it and start asking questions and figure it out!! It's getting so good can't wait for more things to unravel!!!

Right?!?! I mean I'm leaning more of the possibility he's gonna be like her guardian angel type thing and help protect her but I would totally love for him to come back to life by some miracle and continue their love story and detective teamwork!!!
