What reason would he have to underestimate a teacher? From his cautious behavior this sudden change makes no sense. I guess you were trying to find reason to make him steal the scroll

However Naruto also underestimates Mizuki's strength, otherwise he would have avoided this task entirely.

Extremely forced and illogical. Why would he trust Kakashi just because he asked "do you trust me"? His answer should have been along the lines of ...that is something we can work to stablish in the future... but for now we have enough foundation to be a team.... the direction the Mc character is going does not seem like something I would like but I will give it few more chapters before I make my final judgment
