Shameless review from the Author. It won't be the best story out there, I'm an amateur writer with much to learn. Give me your critiques, I can take them. The MC got trapped inside a video game when he was 14, so its safe to say that he didn't develop as well as some of the readers. He's also an unreliable narrator and loves to hear the sound of his own voice. This world still has a lot to show so please stick with me through this journey. Let's unravel the story together.

A horde of demons ran toward Mykel and he just stared at them so casually while he lit his cigarette. The moment the horde was close enough to him, they stopped running and slowly avoided him because they were intimidated by his presence. Some of them even started to run back to the tower while Mykel casually walked past them and ignored them.

Not to mention that at some point, the harem makes the story unreadable. you get maybe 5 paragraphs of story in between the 22 you get of the harem flirting, the peanut gallery of boys cursing mc for his luck, the ladies throwing themselves at him, the MCs entourage talking about the situation and the acquaintance shaking their heads at the groups antics. Even if interactions between characters is important to flesh out the story, at some point, it's necessary to cut the useless chatter, instead we get 3 chapters that could've been 1 and all that happened in that time was the mc leaving his room, say goodbye to the harem and use the teleportation gate.

I knew the novel wasn't going to take itself seriously within the first few chapters, but it was interesting enough to read. Story with a lot of potential but ends up being bland. strongest system constantly gets nerfed. You get full arcs focusing on the specific training of different classes, only to use them for half of the next arc to be never touched again. Important chapters are well written, but 80% of such arcs are muddled at best. It's just the author filling up the chapters, and you end up skimming without meaning to. Fights go from being well written describing the MCs mix of martial arts and spells to just MC and his harem+summons showered bad guys with all the names of spells, dungeons end up being conquered in what's really a paragraph while the 10 chapters it took is MC flirting amd the harem pinching him or punching him. The ranking system gets explained every so often, but MC jumps the equivalent of 4 ranks from the very start of the novel, and soon enough, his commanders do the same. Fights turn into jokes with bad banter. God's ignore the world's setting, you have then breaking all sorts of rules, and then you have the gods that support mc with the constant "don't give him special treatment" doing just that. The world and system were promising, but the writing fell short.

Honestly, it's a great story. The worst part of it being the main character and the female lead. All of the side characters offer a different perspective to the narrative and the experiences of each varies. The plot was great. It gets a bit convoluted when it tries to explain science using big words, it takes them 3 big paragraphs to explain simple concepts and offers no ELI5, for example the simple gravity siphon, which could be explained with steam pump puts water in the high tower and then it falls to the tap. MC is the bringer of big knowledge from the future. He goes from being a lord only in name to a platoon commander, and gradually his forces grow so much that the later part of his story only have him reading reports of the battles a few months after due to distance. He grows to be hypocritical, being and idealist in feudal times of wars, switches between detrhoning and offering refugees jobs to forceful conscription as the story goes by. And most of all is how backwards he is when it comes to romance. The female lead, well I can only describe her personality as a wet mop. Aside from being described as a combat witch, who only maybe fights twice, she is mostly used as a soldering gun, and sometimes as a wall to bounce "novel" concepts with the MC using big words. Personality wise she is almost non existent. Which is a shame because she ends up with the MC. Literally even coach drivers that get 2 chapters have more in depth character and development than her. All things considered it's a good story, you get to see the growth in all the side characters and the town from border town to empire and the department ministers.
