This calamity would set him on a dangerous path, where one must thread the lines of good and evil... Armed with the power of Eldrin, Uriel would seek the path, the path of truth and justice... And so he shall seek the Path of the Supreme. --- Hey there, so this is technically my fourth book, two of my previous works were contracted so I have a good grasp on writing by now, so you can be assured that you're going to get something of quality. If you don't believe read a few chapters of my previous works... This story is going to be a bit of a challenging one to write but hopefully one well worth reading, It's going to have concepts of theology, primarily monotheistic, but also concepts of polytheistic nature, as well as concepts of ideology worked into its narrative. I'll try to keep it light and simple as much as possible. Also, I'm going for a bit more of a vibrant setting so that will hopefully lead to some fun engagements between characters from different places. Alright, that's enough from me, if you enjoy it please vote, comment, and review, it will help the book reach more people and hopefully allow me to complete the story. Your Author - Take care

Step aside, let me handle this

Shen Tang woke up on the exile road and found this world very unscientific. Heavenly stones fell, triggering strife among nations. Words solidified into reality, thoughts became tangible. Martial prowess gathered, mountains split and seas parted. What she once perceived as a mere pretty face, with a mere utterance of "leaping over spears and horses," transformed into a fully-armored warrior, spear in hand, capable of standing alone against thousands! The consumptive wretches in her eyes, muttering "constellations scattered like chess pieces," reshaped the sky into a domed canopy and the land into a chessboard, effortlessly maneuvering troops into formation! This, by all means, couldn't be deemed unscientific anymore! It seemed like the scientific coffin lid had been nailed shut by theology! And she— "My lord, there's a severe drought in the Northern County. Would you shed a tear?" Shen Tang: "..." "My lord, the Southern Province is flooded. Would you share a smile?" Shen Tang: "..." ———————— Looking at the ten bowls of rice she devoured, the pockets cleaner than her face, and a group of villagers clamoring for attention, seemingly reincarnated food barrels, the real artist of souls, Village Chief Shen Tang, reluctantly abandoned her beloved paintbrush and was forced onto the road of vying for lordship.

Judgment day has arrived and the dead have risen. Whilst Faye Fraizer was on holiday with her little brother, Theodore (Teddy), and their friends, the whole world changes overnight into an apocalyptic hellscape. From a horror movie to something out of a sci-fi flick, they're forced to adapt to zombies and their supernatural abilities. Yichen, a rich young playboy to many, encounter the sibling duo and takes them under his wing. As time passes Faye cannot help but think that this 'young master' is more than meets the eye. Not only does he seem overly familiar, but he's also rather clingy and she cannot seem to shake him off... -------- Authors Note: Welcome to my new apocalyptic romance novel. Sci-fi, romance, aspects of spiritualism/theology. It might seem like one big complex jumble of lore from all my works (since they all exist within the same 'multi-verse') however, I hope I have laid it all out in a concise manner. I aim to drip-feed it to you, bit by bit, without spoiling the other novels at all. This multi-verse is entirely fictional and based on my own collective experiences, knowledge, and fantastical theories. Though I'm still severely lacking and limited, I'm still learning. So please comment, point out anything you don't understand or find wrong, etc. I thoroughly welcome it. Constructive criticism not only helps grow my talent but my mind as well. There are both light and dark elements in my novels. Though I try to keep them balanced, it inevitably relates to the impact I want the story to have on you. Keeping that in mind, the main theme of all my novels is embracing and overcoming the shadow of yourself, to figure out the direction of your light. These are novels aimed at an ADULT audience with young adults to middle-aged characters. I care about the 'little guys' too, so there are a plethora of characters you will hopefully learn to love. There will be relevant smut scenes, but with warnings as well as any warnings for any other 'major triggers'. I never support or try to glorify toxic/abusive relationships. Though rocky, my main leads' romances are all about their journey of growth of themselves, as well as the growth they develop as a unit. Much love, Raychbunni P.S. Novel Art my temporary attempt (via nightcafe) at all the main characters, I'll let you have fun figuring out who is who ;)

  • THE BEST MUSIC

    THE BEST MUSIC

    Urban R18

That accursed book had the ability not only to pervert and warp the fabric of space and time but to bend the very mind itself, to twist the psyche to breaking point and then go beyond. It was something not meant for this world. Exiting the motorway we quickly came to the large town of Dungannon, a town that had grown rapidly over the last decade as it had seen an influx of foreign nationals disproportionate to the rest of the country, who brought with them a diverse range of strange theologies and mysticisms. Some of these I knew as off-shoots of more mainstream theologies, others I knew to be cults new or old that barely clung to existence in the world as we know it, and one or two I had heard of only in legend and existed here as anywhere else in rumour. Parapsychology bore little interest to my erstwhile driver who guided us into the car park of some quaint local shopping mall that had served as a linen mill during the industrial revolution an age ago. A surprisingly modern bistro sat on a corner unit of the mall, all glass front with trendy chrome chairs and dark wood throughout and soon we were guided to a table and upon ordering we returned to our conversation about the unusual Valjean. That conversation did not last a great deal of time however as we had discussed at length during the journey the details of my entire communication with the musician and changing tact Professor Davids enquired as to how I was adjusting to life in Belfast after my time spent in Arkham. I confessed that at times I was still caught out by the quirks of European life compared to those of Americans, in the United States life and people were generally simpler in manner but at a faster pace than in European nations. The best descriptor I could think of was that in America politics was an occupation, in Europe it was a lifestyle choice. As the waitress arrived with our food I came to realise that I no longer had the attention of Professor Davids, indeed nothing seemed to be holding his gaze, as if his mind were absent from his body. “It’s the music, ” explained the waitress in answer to the question I had not asked and I then noticed the crackling warble filtering in that I had come to recognise as the work of my reclusive penpal, “AJ Valjean, some people seem to space out listening to his stuff, it really speaks to them.” “That could prove dangerous, ” I said snapping my fingers in the face of my colleague breaking his trance, “it’s like some form of hypnosis.” “I’ve never seen the harm in it, ” the waitress left our food and returned to the kitchen area, passing a waiter who I saw to be moving in an almost robotic fashion, and after that had caught my eye I came to realise that maybe half a dozen of the thirty or so in the room also behaved in the same trance state. “That was quite an unusual experience, ” the Professor spoke, “I felt as though my mind were slowly draining, it was peaceful, very calming. Your friend certainly makes music for the soul.” “It certainly is strange, ” I commented, I found it unsettling how powerful an effect such music could have on a receptive psyche. Clearly there was some subliminal waveform or message in the music that whether intentional or not was at the very least a hazard to drivers and pedestrians, at the worst I would dread to think. I ate my meal in uncomfortable silence, knowing what I know of the interests of AJ Valjean I doubted that the trance state was unintentional and could only hope that it did not exist to serve some hitherto unknown malign purpose. My eyes followed those who had been under the effect, watching to see any peculiarities or behavioural quirks beyond the generally accepted norm of human activity, indeed I kept one eye on my companion for having known academically for some time now he could best serve as a control group.

  • THE NEEDLE

    THE NEEDLE

SynopsisThe Needle in this fiction embodies Martial Law. The skull mangled exemplifies the Filipino people specifically human rights victims from all persuasions – enforced Desaparecidos to combatants, students to academicians, civilians to soldiers, peasants to landlords, laymen to religious, ordinary taxpayers to oligarchs, voters to politicians, officials to professionals, – all victims of militarization offered as sacrificial lambs in the altar of Dictatorship. The crucifix and holy rosary, guns, and bullets symbolize the protagonists – heroes and villains - and the causes and institutions they represent. The red roses, a love affair that blooms and blossoms among the main characters. The timeline was September 21, 1972, covering fourteen long years of dictatorship when Martial Law was declared until February 24, 1986, during the restoration of democracy ushered in by People’s Power at Epifanio de Los Santos or EDSA. Post EDSA events from Fidel V. Ramos to Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III or PNoy to Duterte’s presidency and Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. are briefly treated in an Epilogue. The choice of fiction was deliberate because of its timelessness and very important lesson drawn from that historic event–the restoration of democracy no less by President Cory Aquino. Whether it succeeded or not thereafter doesn’t matter. Filipinos are that unpredictable. Their memory is way too short and the hardest to please. But what is important is we have thrown away the tyrant, award-winning Investigate Journalist Shiela Coronel emphasized restoring fourteen long-lost hostage democracy in 1986. Add to that is the consequent didactic message to all Filipinos especially the Post Martial Law babies: “Beware and never again Martial Law!” In format, the author uses four of Irving Wallace's criteria in writing fiction from his “The Writing of One Novel” with some innovation on grounding characters using flashbacks and other tools characterizing bestsellers like Dan Brown, Grisham highlighting the author’s premium on the relevance of the said historical event and its political ramifications surrounding the subject throughout the story. First, no loose ends in the plot. This one is a tough act to follow. The subplot should be tied together as much as possible to the end. Second, narrative excitement rings the bell for readers. Third, is the use of research to disabuse and mitigate elements of violence and sex. Treating this work as social commentary on different implacable social issues of the day was deliberately utilized by the writer given his Philosophy, Theology, and Sociology background. Note that pictorials used in the work unless indicated in the caption are meant to highlight the theme of each respective chapter. Lastly, the most unlikely ending squeezing creative juices of the imaginative mind. Breaking the rules of writing known to man is also a challenge here. Ergo, treating the subject as fiction against the social commentary backdrop to make the narrative captivating journey instead just plain Martial Law account which is surely dry and monotonous story. How these criteria are treated and addressed by the writer especially the first, third, and fourth is left to readers and critics. Copy editing of the first draft has been done by the author using Grammarly, relevant creative writing tips culled from the internet from the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Jeff Goins, Catherine Reid, Cynthia Jones-Shoeman, Joe Bunting of NaNoWriMo, Billy Wilder, and Pruelpo, an FB friend and OFW dabbling as free-lance writer and guru. The third is actual editing from Ricardo S. Maulion Jr., my son, doing the proofreading. I have yet to accept any copy editors to do the favor for me packaging this project into a cohesive whole work.Ricardo F. Maulion For book order:Email ad: ricardomauliond1205@gmail.com

  • Battle of Karbala

    Battle of Karbala

The Battle of Karbala (Arabic: مَعْرَكَة كَرْبَلَاء‎) was fought on 10 October 680 (10 Muharram in the year 61 AH of the Islamic calendar) between the army of the second Umayyad Caliph Yazid I and a small army led by Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, at Karbala, modern day Iraq.Prior to his death, the Umayyad caliph Muawiyah I had nominated his son Yazid as his successor. Yazid's nomination was contested by the sons of a few prominent companions of Muhammad, including Husayn, son of the fourth caliph Ali, and Abd Allah ibn Zubayr, son of Zubayr ibn al-Awam. Upon Muawiyah's death in 680 CE, Yazid demanded allegiance from Husayn and other dissidents. Husayn did not give allegiance and traveled to Mecca. The people of Kufa, an Iraqi garrison town and the center of Ali's caliphate, were averse to the Syria-based Umayyad caliphs and had a long-standing attachment to the house of Ali. They proposed Husayn overthrow the Umayyads. On Husayn's way to Kufa with a retinue of about 70 men, his caravan was intercepted by a 1,000-strong army of the caliph at some distance from Kufa. He was forced to head north and encamp in the plain of Karbala on 2 October, where a larger Umayyad army of 4,000 arrived soon afterwards. Negotiations failed after the Umayyad governor Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad refused Husayn safe passage without submitting to his authority, a condition declined by Husayn. The Battle of Karbala ensued on 10 October during which Husayn was killed along with most of his relatives and companions, while his surviving family members were taken prisoner. The battle was followed by the Second Fitna, during which the Iraqis organized two separate campaigns to avenge the death of Husayn; the first one by the Tawwabin and the other one by Mukhtar al-Thaqafi and his supporters. The Battle of Karbala galvanized the development of the pro-Alid[a] party (Shi'at Ali) into a unique religious sect with its own rituals and collective memory. It has a central place in the Shi'a history, tradition, and theology, and has frequently been recounted in Shi'a literature. For the Shi'a, Husayn's suffering and death became a symbol of sacrifice in the struggle for right against wrong, and for justice and truth against injustice and falsehood. It also provides the members of the Shi'a faith with a catalog of heroic norms. The battle is commemorated during an annual ten-day period during the Islamic month of Muharram by Shi'a, culminating on tenth day of the month, known as the Day of Ashura. On this day, Shi'a Muslims mourn, hold public processions, organize religious gathering, beat their chests and in some cases self-flagellate. Sunni Muslims likewise regard the incident as a historical tragedy; Husayn and his companions are widely regarded as martyrs by both Sunni and Shi'a Muslims.

Life Difference between Rich and pover

FaithThere are two main branches of Islam - Sunni and Shi’a. Sunni is the largest branch of Islam. Shi’a is the second largest branch. Sunni and Shi’a Muslims agree on the basic principles of Islam, such as believing in one God and the importance of the prophets. They also share the same holy book - the Qur'an.The reason there has been a split into different branches is due to differences in belief about who was the rightful successor to the Prophet Muhammad as leader of the Muslim community after his death.Shi’a IslamShi’a is the second largest branch of Islam and is divided into three further branches, including Twelver Shi’a - the largest group. Many Shi’a Muslims believe that Muhammad chose Ali as his successor and they do not accept the authority of the first three Sunni caliphs. In Shi'a Islam an imam is not simply a person in charge of a mosque and its congregation, but someone who has the authority to decide the meaning of the Qur’an and which laws Shi’a Muslims should follow.Key Beliefs in Islam.Sunni and Shi'a Muslims both believe in the oneness of Allah and follow the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Sunni and Shi’a Muslims also agree on the importance of the prophets. Each branch of Islam has some central beliefs. Sunni Muslims follow the six articles of faith and Shi’a Muslims follow the five roots of Usul ad-Din.The six articles of faith - Sunni IslamTawhid is having absolute faith in the oneness of God. Allah is simply the Arabic word for God and is not the name of any other being. Nothing can be likened to him and it is important to note that Allah has no plural in Arabic.Angels (malaikah) are important because God’s greatness means that he cannot communicate directly with humans. He therefore passed messages (Risalah) to his prophets via the angels, who were his first creation. The holy books should be respected, especially the Qur’an, which is a direct revelation from God – it is God’s word. The prophets (nubuwwah) should be respected, especially Muhammad, known as the Seal of the Prophets (the last prophet). It is important to note that Muslims accept Isa (known by the name Jesus in Christianity) as a prophet. There are 25 prophets named in the Qur’an.Sunni Muslims believe in the Day of Judgement and the afterlife (Akhirah). All Muslims will be judged by God and sent to either Paradise or Hell.Al-Qadr means that everything in the universe is following a divine masterplan. This shows the importance of God’s will, as Allah knows or decides everything that will happen. In all things the master-planning is God’s (Qur’an 13:42).What is the importance of the six articles of faith?Knowing that there is only one God, Sunni Muslims believe that people should live following his rules. The holy books help with this as they give guidance on how Muslims can live their lives on the right path. The prophets are sent by God to teach humans how to live as Allah wished and to teach how to obey his laws.A lot of Sunni Muslims believe that the angels record the deeds of humans on Earth, which encourages Muslims to do good if they want to have a place in Paradise. The belief in the Day of Judgement means believing that this life is a test and Allah determines everything, even human free will. However, humans are still responsible and held accountable for their actions. The five roots of Usul ad-Din - Shi’a IslamThe theology of the twelve imams of Shi’a Islam contains the five key principles known as Usul ad-Din:Shi’a Muslims believe that the prophets provide guidance on the past and the Qur’an. They agree that if there is only one God then Muslims should follow his rules.Shi’a Muslims believe that Allah is always right and just and sometimes may act in ways that are beyond our understanding. Muslims believe they face judgement in the afterlife. Therefore, they need to follow the right path in their lives in order to pass any test that God sets for them.
