The difference in Great Xia establishing a trade route and the Yan alliance establishing one, is that Great Xia has the strength to defend it by themselves. I highly doubt the Yan alliance would be able to stop Great Xia from simply taking the trade route from them without Jacks help. Even then Jack could only help on the American side of things where as china I highly doubt the Yan alliance can do jack to Great Xia especially in the ocean. Literally Great Xia has one of the strongest navies in the world and has multiple wars under there belt but the Yan alliance's navy has done nothing notable that I can remember. You are putting one of Great Xia's major strengths(Naval warfare) against your major weakness(Naval warfare.Now dont get me wrong maybe the Yan alliance would be able to grow stronger through establishing the trade route but even then they would still be leagues apart from Great Xia. So at any time Great Xia can just commandeer the trade route on the Chinese side of things and Jack would be forced to choose between a very powerful trade partner who can hold his own weight or a bunch of aristocratic failures who needed outside help in order to even put up a fight against Great Xia. I understand Jack and the Yan alliance are both under the Silver Hand and he eventually will fight with Great Xia but I think that should not affect the benefits of being Great Xia's trade partner for a little while. Honestly if Ouyang does not come up with a plan to either take this trade route or at least deal some serious damage to the ships along the route. For instance, maybe Farrah escaped prison and he somehow created a new pirate group that specifically targets Yan alliance merchant ships. Really who would possibly be able to connect that back to Ouyang(other than anyone with a bit of intelligence). All jokes aside I would really like to see Ouyang create his own secret pirate group with Farrah as the head.

Political intrigue/strife between brothers.

Jack, Japan, and yanhuang alliance are linked through silver hand and each provide a port, security and trade specialties. All three being integral to a trade route. It doesn't matter if great xia can over take their Chinese counterparts on that side of the globe. They would spread their forces too thin and not have the pre-existing links to solidify a cooperation.
