I find it interesting that the Roc could not sense that it had three creatures of a higher rank on the food chain on his back. Ian is half Dragon, the Sky Dragon is a dragon, and Light is a three eyed lion which was just said in this chapter to be comparable to a young dragon. So saying that, a Roc with a diluted bloodline should instinctively be terrified of these three, yet there was no reaction at all. Maybe because it was linked to the Wind Pavilion guy or it's intelligence is just not very high at all. Or its been house trained so well it does not know what it should and should not be afraid of.
