Susan shouldnt be meddling no matter what her relationship is with John. She started something on her own and she hasnt made amends to Clara yet. I think its best that she veers away from the family's squabble. She is just John's biological mother, not part of their family. And even if Catherine ran to her for refuge, she should just be steady. She could have an opinion but she couldnt have the decision.
