Constellation of Cruelty

The stars that shine above us impact our lives and shape our destinies significantly. Each constellation represents a force in the universe that either brings justice and order or serves chaos and destruction. It reminds us that the universe is a carefully orchestrated balance of opposing forces rather than a random collection of events.

In Astrus, these opposing forces come to a head in the form of a long-lasting war between two kingdoms - Ghrimhold and Fonscere. Ghrimhold, a kingdom that is constantly locked in a harsh and bleak winter, seeks to conquer Fonscere, a warmer realm. On the other hand, Fonscere aims to drive back this chilling invader further and reclaim the many cities it has lost to the icy grip of Ghrimhold. This war has been waged for thousands of years, characterized by moments of peace intermingled with brutal displays of violence.

Despite the chaos and destruction below, the stars continue to guide and study those who draw upon their power. Currently, Astrus is in the longest recorded time of peace in the history of the world. However, unlikely figures creep around the edges of this peace, ready for when war will sound again.
