“It takes two person’s consent to start a relationship, then why is one person’s no is enough to break it?”
The day which was supposed to be the happiest day of my life turned out to be the worst day. I was waiting to spend the entire night in his arms, talking about our future, but what do I get in return? Rejection for another girl.
“Was it easy to say?”, I thought in my mind sitting on my train that is ready to go back to my city. The city I was born in.
Yesterday I came here to Pune to meet the love of my life smilingly, hoping to have the happiest moment of my life with him. We both had a long-distance relationship for many years, and what kept our relationship strong was the trust and dedication which we gave to each other. The journey was never easy, but we always made it work because we knew we had become an inseparable part of each other’s life.
I graced his picture with my fingers and thought, “Don’t I worth any effort from his side?” My eyes filled with tears again.
Since he left me here at the station, my tears are not stopping. I wanted to cry hard, and I did, but I am still feeling the pain. The thought of him being with another girl is always asking me only one question, “Was I just a choice?”
“Shouldn’t we try our best before giving up?”, I thought and remember the moment when he proposed to me for marriage.
Though we knew the journey would not be easy, I was still ready. I was ready to wait for him. I was doing my best to make my parents happy about our relationship, but everything was ruined.
His four words destroyed my three words. I was about to say, “I love you” but he beat me to it saying, “I am getting married.” and my world collapsed.
“Win or loss is part of life, but if we will not try, how are we going to succeed? No matter what we do or say, at the end of the day, what matters is the efforts we make for each other.” I remembered what I read somewhere and then words he told me, “He is telling me to move on in life but how should I tell him that I am not feeling any life remaining inside me? I am dying day by day and just can’t tell my feelings in words.”
“Was our eight years of togetherness, love, companionship, and friendship mean nothing? A random girl came and destroyed my castle of love.” I wiped my tears, trying to hide my face from the person sitting next to me who was constantly seeing me crying.
I looked at the stairs he walked a few minutes ago and thought, “The railway station means so much to me and my life. It has seen my tears which I have to hide from my parents, my prayers for giving him to me, which I made to god, and the fear of losing him every moment.”
“Should I give up on my love because of a random girl who has nothing to do with my life, his life? Just the arrival of her destroying both of us.”, I asked myself and wiped my tears again.
I wiped my tears and remembered the day when we were about to give up on each other, but we didn’t. I determined my mind, “Whatever it is, he is mine unless I choose to leave him. He is mine till I do not lose him fully. I will fight for my love and I am not going to give up. She might be the best choice for him according to his family, religion and circumstances but I am the one who has seen his flows. I was the one who stood by his side when he needed me. I was the one whom he chose to tell his secrets. I was the one who cried when he was angry. I prayed for him too when he went for his interview, but today I felt like I mean nothing to him.”
“Am I that easy to give up?” I thought and closed my eyes to keep all the negative thoughts out of my mind and our life.
