Ivie was just five years old when she realized she was growing up in a household that was far worse for a child like her to gain the attention and love she wanted and needed. Ivie stretches her outward and with one swift movement, she heard a high-pitched scream as her hand pulls the hair of the nosy empress before her, “Mark my words,” she threatens her eyes throwing glacial draggers to her foe, unfazed by her title and the hostile environment around them.

Her fists were itching for revenge from the betrayal she received. The murmurs begin to hush down and there was only heavy pressure that’s starting to suffocate everyone in anticipation. They were too stunned to speak or move.

The empress!

“Speak . . . ” She whispers threateningly and her lethal voice causes the unfortunate empress’ knees to buckle and weaken before her, whimpering in utter defeat.

“I-I don’t know! Guards—”

No.

Ivie begins to panic inside. Everything was starting to drift apart. Her vision turns disoriented and blurry, and the numerous footsteps she heard suddenly turn soft and barely audible.

Her hazel eyes burned from both hatred and anger as she tries to scan the entire hall which was now succumbed to an uncomfortable and dreadful silence. Fury immensely spread through her pupils, wishing for each and every pair of eyes staring at her though wide in horror could just walk through the door, headless.

“Where’s my son?” She announces, breathing deeply to restrain herself.

She swore to heaven or hell, the real battle has yet to begin.

But before her head spun to unconsciousness, a warm and strong arm catches her.
