Synopsis

Elizabeth Wright is twenty-four years old. Has a boyfriend, and a plan. She's been working for Craig and Elsbeth Thornburn since she was eighteen years old as a nanny for their three children, Ailsa, Blair, and Lachlan. Everything is going according to the plan.

That is, until when in Paris for their anniversary Craig and Elsbeth are tragically killed during the 2015 terrorist bombings. I the weeks immediately afterward Elizabeth finds herself now acting as the children's guardian until the details of the Will of the Thornburn Estate can be carried out.

Having spent the last six years of her life raising Ailsa, Blair, and Lachlan, when the estate offers to pay her to be their nanny until Lachlan's eighteenth birth day, how could she ever say no. What she felt for them, even though she was young, it wasn't like an older sister and she wasn't old enough to be their mother. Besides, they had a mother, and she would never think to even try and replace her. No, she was something else, something... more.

She may be the children's nanny, but Gabriel Shara was designated to be their guardian. However, no one can get in touch with the enigmatic brother of Elsbeth Thornburn. Now Elizabeth must guard her charges as she accompanies them from London England to the unknown wilds of Gabriel Shara's country estate in Norway New York, and finding Gabriel may turn out to be an adventure that changes all their lives...
