The Living Dead in the City LDC

I was from the city of Lathen, a small but populous city in the west of London. In Lathen, the house of Selvano had always been viewed with awe, respect, and fear.

I am the only successor of the Selvano bloodline. My father led a group of the Selvano disciples to defeat Magic Wolves, Shadow-Bringers, Harpies, Gorgons and many other magical creatures that harmed the humans of Lathen. My mother is a talented enchantress and her dispelling charms were renowned in our town. Many witches came to be taught under her wing but none was accepted due to her special heritage.

Amidst this mess, I lived with my parent's blood inside me and all kinds of magic around me. I learned how to read stars and people, how to write curses and poems, how to make runes and toys. I hadn't awakened my magical talent but my parents told me it would take time.

I didn't have time. I decided to leave and applied to a university in the US, far from Lathen.

I saw how humans could not see the basilisks lurking, couldn't hear the ghastly screams of ghosts around them. I knew university would be difficult, especially since so many things are unfamiliar to me. Still, I got stuck in a set of unfortunate events that led me to be so infamous, my parents nearly teleported me back to Lathen for a scolding.

This is my story and how I had to hide.
