The Throne in Betrayal

Rose Lee, a star creative writer of her university, bags the first position in the English poem writing competition. Two weeks later she hits a new low. Not knowing what to do she stares at her ceiling aimlessly. Her inner monologue is interrupted by her best friend's call. The said friend had been reading a historical fiction and excitedly shares the tale with Rose. A story of ignorant king, jealous queen, poor concubine and sly vengeful man.
It was fun as a fiction but what if you were thrown in midst their plots and trickery? That to as a side character with no power or importance!




There was another possibility, but that was just crazy. She had heard of the concept, didn’t really think it could happen in reality. It couldn’t be, could it? Rose turned to her maid..(?),she guessed, and held her by the shoulders. Time for some important questions.

“What is the queen’s name?”

“How could I take her name?”

“It is only us here. Say it.”

“Her highness Yi Ha-Eun.”

Ha-Eun the jealous Queen. 

“And me?”

“You? You are Her Highness Mun Seo-yeon.”

Seo-yeon the Royal Noble Consort. 

Rose laid back on the floor with a thud and stared at the wooden ceiling hopelessly. Out of all the characters she could be, she had to be the one who has no importance other than dying. If she had to be a side character, why couldn’t she be someone who actually survives!

“Your highness! Are you okay? Is it the Queen? Is she giving you stress again?”

“Yes she is my biggest stress.”
