Synopsis

The bright light blinded me when I woke up and I was welcomed by a cold splash of water. What the…? I coughed and I tried to wipe the sweat and water off my face but I couldn’t. I could barely move. It was only then that I realized that I was in a chair, a cold metal chair with the bolts digging into my back; and my hand hands were tied behind me. There was a table in front of me and another chair. And in that chair sat a man much older than me. My chest was pressed against the edge of the table and it hurt and the gash across it wasn’t helping.
“Hey!” I yelled, “Untie me right now-”
The man lifted a hand, telling me to be quiet, before throwing a file on the table.
“Sorry Miss Madison. Just doing my job.” he said dully, “Now why don’t you make this easy on the both of us and just tell me what you saw.”
I glared at him with gritted teeth. I knew better than to trust these kinds of guys, but...I didn’t know where I was or where he was and I’d be damned if I let that kid get hurt. Not again. I sucked in a breath, and I talked, but my eyes never left him for a second.
“He was near death when I found him. Nothing but skin and bones; but he still looked at me like a child would.” my voice trailed off, “ Naive and trusting and...he stared. He likes to stare a lot.”
