Iro Emmerick awakes in a trench puddle with almost no memory of who he was before the war, and a nearly-indestructible new body made of clockwork and steel. Driven by a need for answers, he sets out to discover the truth of what happened to him, and finds a world that is far different than the fragments he remembers. //Story updates at least 3 times a week, usually on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If I can increase this further without sacrificing the quality of the writing, I will! I hope you enjoy!

"Hey, great news, kid... you're dead!" With these words, Jack Eames, unrepentant slacker, found himself staring down God, and was offered a choice- An eternal life of never-ending bliss and relaxation, OR the chance to start over as a powerful hero, fighting to defeat monsters, rescue maidens, and save this new world from another player - a villain who has been given the exact same advantages he has. ...And a couple weeks head start. The ultimate prize? The winner of the contest gets to become God of this new fantasy world, and reshape it however they can possibly imagine! The downside? Whichever one of them loses ceases to exist! For Jack, a clueless, fantasy-obsessed shut-in, picking option number two wasn't hard. Learning that being a hero takes much more than pressing buttons on a controller, and that a real fantasy world is far more dangerous than the ones in stories he loves.... well, that's something else entirely!

Fifteen years ago, the Legion arose on the continent of Forseal, led by a fallen hero who calls himself Emperor. For Aloura Gildcrest, prodigy of war and swordswoman extraordinaire, the Legion are nothing but a proving ground for her ever-increasing martial talents. For Ayden Lorrike, inventor and pacifist, they are nothing more than a distant nuisance that are bad for his peace of mind. For Garviel Ironside, aging mercenary captain, they are nothing more than the cause of his first death. But when the Legion come for the Republic of Adelrest, they are all forced to come face to face with the horrors a highly-coordinated horde of armored skeletons brings.

LanaAugustine: First off thank you for the lengthy review and I'm happy that you're enjoying the story. But you have so much more to read. This isn't a story about a dashing prince falling in love with his slave. This is a story about control, lust, emotional abuse, power dynamic, and how dangerous emotions can be when x feels entitled to y.

No spoilers but it has to be written this way. It's imperative that I show both sides of their lives while they co-exist together. There would be no story without the prince and while I love my Songbird dearly she isn't the main protagonist in this book.

The prince is was the very first character introduced to use and this book is actually his. This is more so about his journey than it is hers (for now).

That's all I'm going to say since I don't want to speak too much.

If you have questions there is a novel discussion on the forums feel free to ask me anything there. ❤❤

So, having read the first 8 or so chapters, I have two thoughts-

First, you have skill when it comes to forming prose, especially erotic prose. Your storytelling technique, as far as the usage of words is concerned, is solid. Definitely above average for the platform.

Second, however, you are wasting that skill writing something like this. This story COULD be VERY interesting, if told solely from the slave/songbird's perspective. Her inner monologue could be FASCINATING. I want to understand her discomfort and fear from the prince's advances, her confusion at taking pleasure from unwanted sex, her rebellious streak when facing his obsession with her.

I DON'T want to hear the prince perving out about a young girl and reducing her to ****meat every time they're together. That's both gross and not fun to read, even in spite of your sometimes beautiful prose. Which is a shame. There's a really good seed of a story in her, but I don't see you utilizing it correctly, which is a damn shame because your prose really is incredibly vivid and beautiful.

I will keep an eye on this moving forward. Let me know if you produce any other works! View More

burntpotato: Time skip took me by surprise though. I wonder if Aloura and Ayden's scene happened before or after undead attack. I guess I'll see in the future chapters :D

Thank you so much for the update 💛

Cantiara: Aw, Harken died... 😢 The time skip was indeed unexpected, but nothing unpleasant about it. I'm loving where this is going. As much as I'd love me some badass female protagonist, whom I could see in Alloura, but I have the feeling I'd be rooting for Garviel the most. Up until this point, he's the most... relatable. But it probably has to do with the striking prologue being told from his point of view.

For FWAM's quality I'm more than happy to have a weekly update.

I'll try to catch up with second life's latest updates.Reading both works I really saw Author's effort and improvement. Congratulations.
And please don't mind my review too much, it's mostly chatterings and just layman's review

Thank you again for the hard work ~

I do not mind you spamming comments! Hell, reading reactions to my work is the highlight of my day! ^_^

While I am sure I have gotten better as a writer in the past year, a lot of the difference between FWAM and this story are result of the time and effort going into each. Second Life is my "for fun" book, while FWAM is my "tryhard" book. I only post one FWAM chapter a week, which I have taken at least a week to write and revise, while Second Life chapters are written in one sitting and posted daily.

Jack does get better with time, and the story does get more serious (without losing the humor). I have worked hard to evolve things as organically as possible, but I would love to know if something isn't working well so I know to focus on it in the second draft!

burntpotato: I came here from "For we Are Many" because I've seen this is one of the author's work. Oh gosh I love that book so much, it feels like I'm reading a published book and as much as I want to give it daily reviews, I'm too embarrassed to do so because future readers might think I'm a bot or something. (why am I giving a review here for the other book? lol)

I can see clearly that this is very JP-ish plot— isekai, harem, plot armors. Typically won't read this kind of book if it's the heavy type but since there is a humor I can handle it.
I'm still at early chapters so I'm not sure if there will be character development with Jack regarding his intellect but I'm kind of fine with him being dumb lolololol.
Harem... I'm more surprised that almost everyone in the comment hate it. A well written harem could be a good harem. Chapter where I'm at just introduced the girls so can't judge for this yet.
Overall this is fun and entertaining. Fit for webnovel genres. I don't really read originals so this would be my second actual read aside from FWAM

THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK! PRAISE THE AUTHOR!

**. I think Author is more suitable to write detailed and fleshed out characters (like FWAM hehe). But I'm guessing there would be leap of improvement in author's writing here since beginning chapters are already over a year old.
PPS. I hope author wouldn't mind me spamming the comments. ^^

burntpotato: I love the humor every chapter, fleshed out characters and the very descriptive way of writing. I absolutely love the prologue and the clockwork scene, although I don't know a thing about it.
The stance's names are kind of confusing for me though, but visualizing the fight scenes are not an issue due to detailed writing.

Not a comprehensive review but just wanted to tell that I like this story. Thanks for the hard work.

Yes, you're right. It does need a bit... more, both in terms of fright, as well as inner monologue. I think I chalk that up to the final bit being a bit hurried, and me being tired. I'm definitely going to be punching it up in draft 2 View More

kazesenken: I like the snarky dry sense of humor. The very last part with the appearance of the skeletons doesn't seem shocking enough. Aren't these skeletons an anomaly? Shouldn't Garviel wonder just what the hell happened for these things to appear in front of him? Feels like a chance for some snarky final words, to laugh off how he was killed by a ridiculous situation also.

How on earth would comparing my writing to Terry Pratchett be offensive!? That's a phenomenal compliment!

I agree that I don't necessarily like how things are broken up, but individual chapters would be inappropriate for a prologue.... I will play with it in the next draft and see what I can do. View More

Veronica8: Hope this isn't offense. This made me think of Terry Pratchett's Discworld sagas. The narrative has that wry sense of humor. Awesome. Graviel is a hard-ass. The Iron sons seemed to be a riot motley bunch. The humor cracked me up. Good start. The only constructive bit I have is to break up the sections into their own chapters. To give readers a breather between moments. Otherwise. Pretty cool work.
