Apparently you do, since you replied on my comment as if it was a pm.

Comment sections aren't pms. They are places where people can comment on the story for those who want to. Which is what we did. You don't have to like it or respond to it either. If you don't want to, just ignore it. ;) View More

Chaos_Empyrean: there's plenty of other books for you to read. i literally don't care what you care about. and i can't believe i have to keep saying this again and again, the stock market thing is for those who want to do it. if you don't want to, just ignore it.

There's a difference between one rewrite and rewriting the same thing with a minor change over and over that doesn't matter in the long run.

With how little progress your story made in two months or so time, despite having had multiple updates that mixed things up for the start, it's just a case of trying to fix what isn't broken and throwing away your creative energy on something other than progressing on the story that you set out to write...

With pokemon, who cares about the precise details of childhood? All people care about is the actual story which surrounds the journey...

Seeing you nitpick about minor variations in his pre journey years that don't really matter, because all that matters about it is that you want to have an espeon by the time you start is just painful. That's why I'm dropping it.

I love quite a few of your other stories, but this one you're too hung up on the pre journey details, resulting in months of infrequent and pointless updates and rewrites. If that makes you view me in a negative way then so be it. View More

ChaosSlimeGod: Right, so I'm assuming you just skipped over all of the critical information in the update chapter that would have informed you that I was going to rewrite this story. Also, in that update I never said anything about changing the MC so why wouldn't he try the same thing just in a different setting. It's basically the same MC different timeline. If you want to drop it because you don't like the new setting, that's fine but I'm not sure why you're acting like this is a surprise twist or that I plan to just rewrite the starting chapters over and over. Literally, none of what you're complaining about logically follows from the available information.

CANAAN: Yeah I kinda zoned out and scan read this when it focused on the group. Idc about anyone other then the MC and potential love interests...

I'm also annoyed with the constant stock market spamming. It makes me feel like the reason the story has no progress and is stuck in childhood mode is because the author is just typing to get us to use his stock market referral ****...

Why should I care about the mcs childhood beyond what I already read? Why would I care where he goes on vacation, etc etc. I'm kinda wondering what the story is supposed to be about other than getting us to use the authors referral code.

Aces_Mark: Focus on MC more than the entire group

CANAAN: The idea of the story is alright but it never lifts off. I've had the story listed for several months now and the updates tend to be rewrites of the same chapters with minor changes. As such my rating is quite poor. The author writes well but doesn't go beyond baby years with his updates, and tends to focus on various rewrites of his birth... With minor differences.

CANAAN: Dude do you get off on rewriting a perfectly good start to your story over and over? I'm happy everytime I see an update thinking there's a new chapter and instead you rewrite the same birth chapter...

The only difference is a minor change in how he gets his eevee now...

What was wrong with the first one?

I'm driving dropping the story because its a rewrite of the same one with minor changes each time there's an update. I lost my faith in you even starting a pokemon journey, let alone to keep it somewhat kanto-johto pokemon wise when you start there.

CANAAN: I go lt hundreds of 5k words or so starts to stories, but I loose interest within the day when writing them :(

The reason for that is simple... My mind moves faster than I can write, so by the time I finish the prologue, I'm usually already halfway the storyline in my head... Then after the first chapter I'm actually already done with the story and my mind is on the next...

I also don't find my character interactions natural enough, I don't like writing it like I'm Sheldon from big bang theory either, so I tend to do more introspective stuff with little conversation if any...

That said... I sometimes send my sister a prologue and she tends to get pretty hyped when I do... Im apparently good at those and scene setting so that's a plus...

Story wise tough, all you really should focus on is keeping your facts straight. If you implement a powerlevel dubbing then the easiest way to keep track of it is to always keep it a couple of lines below where your writing so each time you use the word year, you only need to double that number and replace it with the new one.

Same for other facts. Most people set up a facts sheet for that purpose. Structure wise, it's easiest to just use keywords for your entire storyline, you can use chapters for that. Then you pretty much got your entire story planned...

Another thing is that it keeps you from self destruction by becoming op the wrong way. With OP characters I find the best approach is to make it over the top like one punch man and humoristic. If you want a serious fic then you should look at strong characters from other stories like Goku and see what makes them OP and leave it mostly at that.

For intelligence related stuff, I recommend never going above your own because your own insights won't live up to the expectations of your audience should you publish something.

This is a mistake many pro authors make as well. I've read quite a few litrpg books where a supposedly smart person keeps fucking up tremendously both plotwise and decision wise.

An easy way to gain more insight in how professional authors do things tough besides self study would be checking the "writingexcuses" potcast by professional authors like brandon sanderson the guy who wrote the mist born triology ..

Also. The grammarly addon running in your browser should spare you a lot of grief grammar wise.

I recommend you write for fun and whenever you don't feel like writing use the addon to fix the grammar of prior chapters and have fun otherwise.

Your levels of enthusiasm will seep through as you write, it's the main key to keep people engaged. The moment your losing interest in your own story people will notice and begin to do so too.

Most important for fanfics tough is besides having fun, to recognise the things that makes the original story great and to stay true to those elements. For DBZ it's the fighting offset by the near slice of life humor.

So those are the elements to keep. The original story line however is not something you should want to preserve or follow too closely with a fanfic.

As for the wishes. Just calculate. 365 days a year, 12 months in a year, 4 weeks in a month. 4x 12 = 48 weeks = 48 wishes per year.

If you use a dumber character than this is manageable like wishing for the world's tastiest pizza or something but with smart characters, this becomes a lot harder, because a smart character is pretty much limitless in his or her potential with 3 wishes, let alone more than that.

A smart character in fact will probably break the story already when they are told that they can make their own decisions on who to reincarnate as or can make their own character....

Imagine starwars reincarnation and only being able to make your own new race.. You can just break it by calling it uberdom and mix it with saiyan, dozens of kinds of elves like Lord and warcraft, getting you qi, magic genetic superiority, then add things like the koban series kobani humans, and other such things into the mix

Ps. Sorry for the somewhat spam rant. My already megaposts is usually me clamping down on that... 🙃

Most importantly tough, just have fun writing and apply the things you learn to the following chapters and stories. Old chapters aren't worth fixing and a story is not worth rewriting. Not for your old readers anyway. Few read a fix, fewer read a rewrite. View More
