Solid story, solid characters, the mystery is always there to hook you up, unfortunately this book is either on hiatus/dropped. The FL isn’t that typical lazy genius rather she’s likely the most gifted & tenacious & hardwor king FL I’ve ever come across! ML is 10/10! One of the healthiest, functional relationship I’ve read in a webnovels like EVER😍 The romance is built up really slowly tho, I mean they barely got engaged at ch 5000+. Talk about slow burn😂😂 although in this case it’s mostly because both often got separated as active SF soldiers which is understandable. FL biological family is also clear of any cliche evil stepmother or white lotus, which is a HUGE step up for me. And ML whole family is totally on FL side, which I find endearing❤️ Over all I am really sad that I can’t read this amazing story to the end😢

What I like about this novel: - Best family relationship. Honestly, could be voted as the best family in entire WN👍 - No misunderstandings between the couple. Neither allows any rotten peach blossoms to come close which is always good - FL is independent, builds her own team so she doesn’t rely on ML for problems but asks for help when she needs to👍 - Best grandpa in law, cute kids (the kids background is honestly a pleasant surprise) What I don’t like about this novel: - The way the story is written is really confusing sometimes. It just jump abruptly between scenes - Subpar face slapping. They always underestimate the villains, doing nothing & giving the villains so many opportunities to attack them but when villains did something evil they’re like *surprised pikachu face* and when they took revenge it’s meh. Sometimes it’s even the kids who took action for them - The story got too dragged down towards the end. I feel like the final conflict could be solved way more effectively and efficiently considering their strengths but no, the final conflict took too many chapters just for it to end VERY abruptly Nevertheless I really enjoyed the first half of the story, where the FL is starting to farm and building her farming kingdom. The story gets really repetitive after the ML recovered. And one thing I’m really confused about is the deal they had with the government. Granted it was for her secret, but she was condemned by the whole country & literally had to close all her local businesses, I figured hey they should’ve helped a little considering her contributions for the country, right🤔 But no, the only time they helped was mentioned very briefly towards the end🤷🏻‍♀️

Disclaimer: this is a review done by an extremely petty individual I’ve read tons of story like this, so I have a few pet peeves: as long as ML is not an A-hole & FL isn’t a doormat & actually has her own ability to smash her enemies, and there’s no barrage of misunderstandings upon misunderstandings, I am satisfied. This novel for me is above average so far. Not the best yet not the worst either, and trust me, I’ve read way worse. That said, these are the things I find annoying in the story: 1. FL is too OP that sometimes it becomes too unbelievable. She knows singing, cooking, painting, designing clothes, designing interior, crafting, play the zither, play the pipa, dancing, sculpting, fencing, chess/go, martial arts, swordsmanship, shooting, equestrian skills, acting, directing, producing, investing, doing business, knows the thousands years of history of China like the back of her hand, including literature, art, music, traditional clothes, every cultural heritage of China she knows. On top of that she’s a professor (lecturing & writing top tier thesis), good in politics and war strategy. The only thing that sets her apart from the other FL is she doesn’t know medicine/surgery, yet. I’ve a feeling she’ll unlock this ability in the future😂 2. The main plot is actually good. I can see it’ll be surrounding the mystery of her unknown dynasty BUT, as the story goes on, the filler stories become repetitive. Someone already commented about this. It’s basically FL unlocks a new ability, the rest of the world mocks her, she proved them wrong. Rinse and repeat. Considering her extensive abilities that I’ve just listed, you can see how this gets boring. 3. Idk if it’s just me but I feel like the scene jumps very abruptly. This happens many times. It’s like the time I watched the old movie Hulk where Eric Bana was the actor, it makes me dizzy. 4. Author is good with cliffhanger. Like she’ll create a problem for FL, the whole internet broke and hates her for it, they boycotted her, but here in the house she either doesn’t know what’s happening or doesn’t even care and was instead being lovey dovey with her hubby. Her manager is basically useless. WHY CANT YOU FINISHED THOSE CLOWNS FIRST BEFORE GIVING US DOG FOOD? I can’t enjoy the romantic scenes because of this. I tend to skip it a lot tbh😅 My insecure anxious ass could never💀 5. 👏Unsatisfying 👏faceslapping👏. Yes. As an extremely petty person, this is a problem for me. Many times to show that FL is cool, she’ll be portrayed as unbothered, like even if it affects her business, she won’t care? After reading way too many novels, this is not a cool trait for me. PLUS someone literally stole her painting & become the world champion, she’s ok with it? I waited hundred of chapters for her to clap back, but it seems like she forgets about this already???? Why??? One good thing tho, at least so far there’s no unnecessary misunderstandings over rotten peach blossoms. ML is a champ in this case. He’ll kill any if they come close🤣 That’s an excellent point for me ‘cause I got traumatized in another novel where the ML actually slept(?) with his rotten peach blossom & FL was outted like that? That was horrible💀

This novel is a pleasant surprise for me. I’ve just finished reading My Sweet Physician Wife Calls the Shot and somehow stumbled into this book. At first, I thought this book was inspired from Nuannuan’s story, but then I realized this is a spin off of MSPWCS. The ending perfectly tied everything together. I was so excited when I noticed it :) I very much recommend this novel, especially for those who (have) read MSPWCS. The only thing I could complain about is the ending seems a bit rushed. But overall, it’s a very good story👍👍

I think I’ve read this before, to the point where she found out she was actually misdiagnosed. When I reread it again, I seem to understand why I dropped it in the first place. Some reviews said this story is a cliche, the world background is a cliche, but the plot seems forced to me in regards that the author made FL such a blockhead just so ML can swoop in and save the damsel in distress. Or maybe it’s a cliche but I usually gravitate towards more intelligent-independent FL, so I’m not used to this kind of FL (which might be why I dropped it before). I reread some chapters and so far for me FL is kind of a jerk. She disappeared when she wanted to only to come back suddenly 5 years later when she wants something; expecting everything’s OK. ML is the one who is making effort for their potential relationship. She’s got a one track mind, doesn’t learn from past experiences thus kept getting schemed against by the same person again & again. She said she’s pure, but not stupid. Sweetie, sadly, the facts have proven otherwise 😅

I actually don’t really mind if FL & ex husband gets back together as long as the ex repents. I believe in second chances , emphasis on second not 3rd or god forbids more because that’s just being doormat which is foolish. If this is anything like My Ex Wants Me So Badly After Divorce, then I can’t stand it. That one is just pure torture & traumatic for me.

I regret reading this book for the sole reason that it left me hanging when I was already addicted to the story😭 You don’t know how desperate I am. There’s only so many times I could reread my Fav novels before I got bored. And after encountering so many doormats FL and scumbags ML, I finally found this gem but it’s dropped?! Whyyyyy😭😭

See, this is the problem if you use other people’s work. Author tried to make it different but instead it made the story inconsistent in some areas. For example: MC character traits. FL went from someone who detested physical contact from strangers in earlier chapters (her tutor leaned in to check her homework but she leaped away ‘like a panther’ to avoid physical contact) to being ‘sucked in her earlobes & kissed on her eyes’ by some stranger when she somehow ended up being a stand-in actress (that was so random btw). This is ch 77. So not much has happened but her character changed that quickly? She suddenly was threatened to become involved in entertainment industry? It seems so forced to me. Not to mention, how the heck did she get to be a ✨nude body double✨ at the age of 16? Why did author feel it’s necessary to add this disturbing scene? Despite knowing that this is some knock off version of FSTB I was going to give it a chance but alas, there was just too much inconsistencies that I give up. The story becomes muddled. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. No wonder it’s dropped🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re not missing anything really. I’m at the latest chapter(197) and nothing’s changed. ML is still a conceited a-hole & continued to unreasonably suspect/accuse her, FL crying miserably but still won’t give him up (note that I used won’t instead of can’t; she could leave him, she said so many times & her friends supported her of divorce, but for some reason she’s just not willing to). Ngl the ML scares the beejezus out of me. He doesn’t seem to think that he can ever be wrong, therefore he never realizes his mistake when it’s so obvious to us. No matter what the FL says, he doesn’t listen. He never acknowledges her feelings. By definition he is a sociopath: lacking conscience and empathy, as well as being impulsive & aggressive. At this point she’s just self-sabotaging herself. She needs help, like serious help. She needs to get out fast. Ffs, she’s left all alone in the hospital after this traumatic event & the ML & his bae are still disturbing her. She couldn’t even eat well. I don’t even know why I’m still reading this, except maybe I‘m too bored.

I’ve powered through 500+ chapters so here’s my take: If you’re looking for satisfying, EPIC face slapping, this is NOT the novel for you. Considering FL/ML top notch abilities, it either took way too long, or the FL ditch the ML and “took revenge” but basically just pinch the enemy a little and didn’t settle it properly, thus providing the enemy MORE opportunities to cause MORE conflicts/drama. Other than that, FL is the epitome of SUPER DUPER LOW KEY which in terms of face slapping, sometimes her revenge is through someone else mostly her subordinates. The problem with this is cannon fodders won’t realize who they’ve messed with hence they won’t learn their lesson thus creating more unnecessary drama/conflicts. The story is written in a way that it seems all over the place, it cuts in the middle of a scene, jumps to a completely different scene and come back briefly to previous scene. There’s also lack of details, names sometimes mixed in which makes no sense on the sentence. To me it looks like author focused too heavily on describing how cool charismatic emotionless MCS are RATHER THAN the storyline. Basically this novel has MUCH POTENTIAL it’s a pity the writing... could be better? And conflicts are mostly fillers which could totally be AVOIDED, BUT I love the author works MYHBU is one of the best novels out there🙌
