It was a little bit of a reference. At the time of writing my sister was obsessed with this show and I couldn't really escape it.

Worst case scenario, he was dead. If this was some sort of afterlife, then it was either hell or purgatory, or something along those lines. No 'Good Place' could possibly permit the possibly literal brain crushing headache he was under.

Well, piloting takes a fair amount of work to do even if you aren't really moving, so he really just limits his intake. The ice cream is just a lil treat.

He broke out the bucket of ice cream he had received, and got in position to watch the show. As the engines on the missiles roared to life for a second time, they left a white cloud in their wake that was eerily beautiful.

Mercedes is being kept out of trouble on the Noah, can't have her peeing on somebody's floor. She's still alive! She just can't do much to help considering the fact that she's, you know, a dog. I have plans for something like this, but the Sanctum is a lot different than other powers. In essence, they are extremely bureaucratic in relation to just about everywhere else (save one) to the point that the expenses from producing and maintaining such crystals are simply untenable. This is sort of background that I wanted to introduce later, but Sanctum script was proactively introduced by the first holder of the 'Librarian' title as a means to record what little history they could and archive it. Once we get to the actual academy you will start to see something similar.

I went over this earlier with the Scholar, but they DO have a system of writing, its just that only a fraction of people working for the Sanctum have learned it (and those from the Holifanian Theocracy). I have plans for the 'everybody else' version of recordings, but you are right that they are incredibly expensive.

"This one seems . . . odd?" The Scholar stopped on a specific page, reading it over and over again in disbelief. "Why didn't anyone want to take this one in? I don't know much about combat but she hardly seems like a liability." He handed it over to the Marshall, some part of him thinking he might be delusional from all the pages he read.
