Sorry, I just reread my own response, and it did not answer your question. First, you said that he had 100% Affinity. He is 100% APTITUDE. Just want to fix that first. You asked if the drug's effects have no time limit; to this, the answer is yes. The drug does have a time limit, and it is shorter than other people's. This is because the drug is being USED by his body. For normal people, the drug would be used to- for example- 10 or 20%. While the drug is being used, it is not being used to its optimal ability because over 80 to 90% of it is being WASTED via bodily functions. For Vincent, his body is capable to absorb and use ALL OF THE EFFECTS FROM THE DRUG. The only difference is, the DRUG IS BEING USED UP FOR THE SPECIAL ABILITIES rather than HAVING A PORTION OF IT WASTED. I hope this clears up your question, sorry it took so long for me to realize.

Aptitude and Affinity are closely tied together, but they do not influence the amount of time the individual has. Aptitude can do that on RARE occasions when the individual has a higher aptitude than average: Which is above 95%. You will understand this as the novel goes on. A Affinity is almost the same thing, except that it amplifies the effects of one type of evolution pill because the individual's genetics match better than with other pills. You will also understand this very soon. Key takeaways (Just to be sure): Aptitude= The amount of energy (effects of the drug) that an individuals' body can use in the most optimal manner. Having an above-average (The average is high, but again... you'll understand later) aptitude allows one to reap better and more "pure" effects but for a shorter amount of time. This can easily be fixed by taking two of the same pills, Vincent got a backlash because it was his first time, and he used two different types of Pills. Affinity= The body of the individual favoring one version/type of the drug opposed to another. This has nothing to do with time, but can be used as a basis of backlash. If an individual, for example, has a max affinity with the blue, strength pill then taking it over and over again, with a high enough aptitude, will lead to no side effects. I get that he is kind of broken if you look at it from the outside perspective, but I have made it so that Affinity is much harder to have. That's kind of a spoiler, but not really.
