***[Real-World Setting]*** The story is set in the near future, 2045. Massive technological advancements have been made by a Japanese Company known as Genaco, who introduced a new, renewable, extremely powerful power source known as Nesla Coils to the world. The invention sends the economies of several countries crashing in a nosedive and mini-wars erupt around the world as a result. Fortunately, the wars did not last long. The economies stabilized over time as two new inventions, built with the Nesla Coils as a basis come into the play. The first, were the first ever mobile suit, or mecha, created by an American company, while the other, was the first truly immersive virtual drive system developed by Genaco’s Russian branch. ***[Plot]*** Suzuki Mato, a 17 years old, virtual reality gamer has an online Persona, Razznik Y’Terlow who is a living legend in the game King’s Journey. Soon after he quits King’s Journey, he is forcefully recruited to participate in a new experiment the company is trying to run. However, Suzuki Mato has a secret. He can create and destroy multiple personalities within himself. Due to a psychological trauma he suffered as a child, he is mostly bereft of true emotions, and thus creates these personalities so he can ‘live’ through them, and hopefully, one day regain everything he lost. The personality created for this brand new game is called Kashi. Kashi is a daeben in the virtual world, a race hated for their atrocities during a great war. The daeben seeks to find a place for himself in this world, carve out his own destiny, and help Suzuki regain his emotions. ***[Author's Note]*** Parallel is a series I have been writing for over four years. As of right now, I am currently on Vol. 4. I will be posting all the current chapters within the next few days. Please note that this novel is a draft version, and thus there might be a few grammatical errors. This novel takes inspiration from Chinese, Korean and Japanese fiction. However, I took great pains to avoid most of the familiar character tropes and arrogant young master plotlines. The first volume contains references to Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, as at the time I started the novel, it was the largest influence on my work. From the second volume down, however, the referencing stops, and the story is all mine. Chapter lengths are long, so I hope you enjoy! ***[Release Rate: 7/week]*** P.S: You can get early access to the edited version by supporting my Patreon for as low as $1 https://www.patreon.com/Renoe_K

Moments

FlambyFluv: The prologue's what kept me intrigued to this story and I love how the story progress. However, I hate the constant change of POVs. I know its a good tangent but, to me, I am more interested to the MC's story than the others. It justcseems that we know more about the other characters than the MC itself which vexes me. Anyways, good story nonetheless. One of the few books here in webnovel that made me respect the author by his book.

Niyeban: To potential readers,

Sometimes, I grapple with what the word "author" means. It's just someone that has published some type of written work, in a way. The word doesn't grasp all the "authors" that I follow the works of are.

The word "writer" doesn't do Renoe_K justice, either. "Writers" are just people that form texts from stringing ideas together. It's a better word. It shows how language can be manipulated and molded to communicate concepts. It adds an element of artistry.

Still, anyone can be a writer. Many can make it to authorship - that's just a writer of tenacity, resilience, and determination. He is more.

The closest I can get is "storyteller." He conveys more than what can be put on paper. He shares journeys. He creates worlds. He makes something from nothing. He expresses in his works emotion, feeling, meaning, something *deeper.* He forms connections that go so much beyond those of ideas; he connects minds, hearts, souls, and spirits. He tells stories.

Don't fall victim to his humility.

I... I'm Nigerian? The story just happens to be set in Japan. Just like millions of others are set in other countries. But okay.

Thank you for reading. View More

God_1: Wow! The Japanese sure are great aren't they! They are so smart and so incredible, they have the strongest people, I love the Japanese, Japanese 4 ever.

Just kidding, if you've read Castle of Black Iron and know the "Hua people" meme then you know what I'm talking about.

ForcedToMake: One other thing to note. If you've been reading various other light novels and novels around the web you will notice a lot of overlap in the author's writing from things like Lord of the Rings and Legendary Moonlight Sculptor to name a few. Renoe has done a beautiful job of taking what they've enjoyed from these novels and incorporating them flawlessly into the story and characters.

qwersession: Once I start reading volume 1 in previous site, I'm unable to stop. Please read this story if you love good main character development with interesting supporting characters.

Reading this novel feels like you are transport to Parallel world itself. The story narrative and how the author tell the adventure of Kashi and friends is simply wonderful. Its hard to find flaw or weakness.

This is not a fake or promoted response.

I absolutely love the work and thought put into the review. ANd don't worry. It won't ever become Premium. View More

5765028: This is not a fake or promoted review, i have invested quite a bit of time writing this.

Before I start this review I would say I have read over a hundred light novels referred from novelupdates. I have read countless world building novels such as release that witch and mmorpg such as virtual World Series or moonlight sculptor.

From countless hours of reading I have become tired and exhausted of ****** generic novels. Often times I am forcing myself to read barely passable webnovels to satiate my love for translated and original works.

Many times it has led me to question if this passion was worth it. But still i persevere. Over the years the requirements for which I choose to continue an ongoing work has increased exponentially. The original original translations like coiling dragon, I shall seal the heavens or even unique novels like emperors domination with its one punch man mc will forever remain my favourites however my tastes has moved on. Unfortunately for many writers I am now only interested in novels that prove exceptional. Parallel online is one of them.

Please read this and the novel so hopefully it gets to be completed! And author please don’t become greedy and make this a premium novel.

RealityIsNotReal: I actually read this on wattpad and I'm a old reader. The 1st volume is kind of similar to The Legendary Moonlight Sculpture (TLMS) but other than that it's all original. Story short it's a great story.

Blaine: My favorite story on wattpad and excited to see it here. I hope it gains traction. this books is a solid read I recommend 100% I really enjoy the world building and how the author keeps the story going by adding in the element for all of the mc’s experiences. Also really enjoy the split personalities.

Martial_lover: Man this is good shi*!!!!! Thus novel is something i have always dreamed of reading, means it contains all the the things/genres i have hoped for.But the level of writing is so high(not that it's a bad thing),that i have to read a paragraph 3-4 times just to get a rough understanding of it(even after reading almost half the novel,I doubt i can explain it to someone else even 5% of what i have read).AND the MC is fu**ing TOOOOOOOO COOOOOLLLLL. He is the type one would always like but too confusing or complex to understand.LOVE this novel, may it continue forever. 💖💖💖💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't understand. Do you hate the book because the synopsis says a Japanese company has an awesome invention? Well, it's your opinion, and I always encourage criticism, but I wish you'd at least read the book first before leaving such a low review. View More

Yeah, the mc is op... but he does fight people who pose a considerable threat to him. Also, unfortunately, there's no harem or 18+ content in this story unless you count blood, gore, and violence. View More
