Alisha Clarke never thought it would go this far. When 15 y/o Ali first laid eyes on Joshua Clarke, she was mesmerized; by 16, he warned her he was trouble, that the devilry of his life was too contagious for her to ever wind up with him. Josh tried to evade her, do anything to keep Ali away, yet despite his deterrence, she couldn't stay away from him or his messy life. By 17, Ali's irrevocably in love with Josh, pleading him to reconsider.

8 years later, Ali's so deep in, there's no end or escape in sight.

"Once you're in, you're in," he told her, years before he changed. "If you don't want this, walk away. But if you're in, don't ask questions."

Ali deluded herself, thinking it couldn't be that bad, so she stayed. She loved him.

If she could now go back in time, Ali would walk away— No matter how much she loved him.

While the affluence afforded perks others only dreamed of, it's what Josh does to get them is the part that bothers her. Mostly because she's cast in the dark where his clandestine affairs are concerned; it eats away at her, burning her to the point where Ali's convinced Josh is a criminal.

Constantly looking over her shoulder, always being followed at close distance to be safe, and then there was the gun in her purse – it would make anyone anxious. But it pales in comparison to everything else that goes on: the strange men roving about their home; Josh or his crew coming back shot, stabbed, covered in blood; or the extreme lengths he went to keep his operations classified from her.

Running away is not an option. How does she know?

She's tried and paid for it, continuing to run even when Josh threatens her with death every time he drags her back.

But what happens when Ali gets caught in the middle of Josh’s exploits, forced to pay for his actions? Will Ali make it out alive or will it perpetually destroy them beyond repair?
