The story is enjoyable because I’ already invested in the path the mc is walking and the final outcomes There could have been more explanation on the mechanics of the magic system, from runes, potions, even how spell casting works, it’s dexterity, means of control. A couple paragraphs here and there could have tied that up succinctly One of the biggest plot holes is his family. I loved when they introduced the love interst and things moved along quick. But after that the Wilson household complete disappear from the story. He’s essentially a deadbeat. The story move one and majority of his time is spent as a solo adventure, climb, I love that no one is weighing him down but the relationships are all fleeting.

Made it to ch 490 before I could not force myself to continue, the plot isn’t bad just got tired of rereading the same lackluster descriptions that were practically copied and pasted multiple times. A few early chapters have the first half of the chapter copied verbatim as the second half. Of the chapters I read, the book could have been reduced by 3/4 if all the useless multiple explanations double speak and fluff was removed. A reoccurring theme is to explain something then take the next paragraph or two to reword that same explanation multiple times adding nothing at all to the story except to up the word count if you are going to spend coins reading a book I’d suggest finding a different book

Writing qualify doesn't need to be mentioned much it is standard webnovel quality not on the level of professional writer but a hobbiest. Updating stability doesn't need to be mentioned it's finished. Story development it pretty awful the mc just happens to chance upon certain encounters and when you the mc finds someone you can immediately guess what they will get from them I can see the authors thought process which is usually a good thing but is bad in this case as I can see the author going "Hey, this is a good idea let's do that than proceeding to scrap it and leave it in the story. Character design is even worse with the mc carrying the classic webnovel sexist viewpoint of if there is a pretty woman she must join my harem or die I only got to chapter 70 where the mc extorts a woman to be his partner then proceeds to molest her. Worldbackground doesn't have a lot of thought put into it as although it has a good framework the author doesn't have the patience to fill it out or stick to it thus making the frame useless. Overall review - I would heavily discourage reading this the only affect you will get from reading this is not enjoyment (Unless you're into the blackmail **** genre) but rather a waste of time and emotions. Usually in novels like this the world seems to work in a way that his nonconseual actions are right and just but this could just be me being ignorant but I don't have that vibe at all it feels like the mc is proud to be a sexist, advocate of nonconsensual stuff. Thank you for reading I hope you can take this review and reflect on whether or not you want to read it. Side note: I kinda got tricked since although there were kinda gradual signs in the first 40 chapters it wasn't so overtly obvious as it was after the 40 chapters so if you do want to read this please read chapter 70 and if you like it feel free to enjoy!

I couldn't make it past the exposition. The MC looses most of the memories of his current self, and is currently being dragged around by various people to his daily activities.

starts out ok, but soon it is obvious that world background and 'spell system' are illogical and full of holes. mc was given gold finger just like that on some random ocasion and it is not even used that much. the only reason i am still reading this novel is because it started decent and i want to know how it ends. still, dont start reading it.

honestly everything is too drawn out, and thw gold finger suffers from a lack of use. MC is often arrogant and unreasonably aggressive. it's your basic church trying to control magic story.

Bland, boring, watered down version of better stories. Why even give the MC a cheat if he's not going to use it? And of course everyone is pretty evil, even by their own standards, which probably says a lot about the Chinese, I think

interesting world concept could of had a bit more flare to the main character as I found him a bit shallow almost lost me half way but picks up. not disappointed I finished it though one or two more pages would be a good to see the the results of the final product.

Rage inducing brain dead author. Every time you think it's acceptable quality they ruin it. Minus 1000 social credit score. Alta is probably Chinese or the creator guy of spell casters thinks they're perfect :/.

This is one of the worst novels i’ve read. The translation is subpar, and has questionable structure. Story is extremely cliché and makes no effort whatsoever in explaining any of the core events. MC just randomly dies without any backstory, realises he died, and prompltly moves on with his live within the span of a few paragraphs, and the character is completely unfased. Furthermore the “system” makes it’s appearance out of nowhere “just because”, and no effort is made into explaining any of it, and as a reader we are meant to just accept it as is without any logic. Not to mention other obvious plot holes and plot armor that occur within the first 50 chapters.

wonderful story. I am late to the party, but that's ok. I like being able to read a full story. you could of gone one more chapter though, and explored his world a little bit. it would be amazing to see him incorporate a few worlds into his world. like the family. c'mon, can't be doing them dirty like that. go have some kids. yeah, he can make any kid he wants, but where's the fun in that? 😉🤭

Great story, a little repetitive but I felt that is what made the world building so detailed, it made me feel like I was right there. Kinda hoped we would get to see a little more of what merlin's illusory world would turn out to look like internally, with more interactivity with all the different civilizations.

Having read dozens of stories like this one, I can confident say that even during the stories slow periods it is still engaging enough to hold your attention and interest effortlessly, and during the climaxes it is so engaging that you won't be able to stop reading.

I will not dwell on every moment, but I will tell you about the most important (personal opinion) drawback of the book. Cultivators!! In principle, I'm only for the author to take the setting from the novella Warlock in the World of Magicians. For such books, very few, only because of the similarity with the Warlock, I began to read this book. For the World of Magicians, this is a harsh reality, but also a world with huge opportunities. Those who complain that the book copies the Warlock, I advise you to read the nickname of the author of the warlock. Okay, I think you know what I mean. Moving on to the Cultivators, somewhere after the 600 - 700 chapter, suddenly the freaking Cultivators burst into the book. And as you probably already know, if there are Cultivators (Dao and other nonsense) then the logic dies immediately. In this book, the same problem, I honestly wondered Why? Why did you add cultivators? The level of mystique and harshness that kept the Warlock setting alive just died! You see, the Warlock setting can patch up the plot holes left by the author. Because it is Mystical, many things can happen there. But what did the author do? He lowered the world of magicians (the planet that the main character hit) to a low world. Like, there are no resources for high-level mages and the author made these high-level mages... Cultivators. After the MC left the world of magicians, the real trash began! Magicians are not monks or sectarians who believe in gods or devils. Magicians are scientists who value and honor equal exchange. This is the main quality of Magicians, but when the mc left the world of magicians, he became the CHOSEN ONE, the GENIUSES who must save the universe. Just as suddenly, there were space demons who wanted to destroy the mages. The most powerful Mages began to fight them to the death, while sacrificing themselves. What is this supposed to mean? How can a high-level mage sacrifice himself for someone else? Mages are Egoists, many of them will run away, or trick others, rather than sacrifice themselves for the common good. I would understand if they were defending their home planet, or something like that. But how can a magician who can live for millions of years, who can travel through the universe, sacrifice himself?

The characters and world itself has been well thought out and written by the author. The grammar and punctuation used is top notch for what you find on webnovel as well. Where the story falls down flat is the many tropes and massive quantity of plot armour as well as the over-the-top exaggerated "lucky coincidences". If you can overlook the flaws its a very good book however I have found myself skipping over multiple chapters or nearly dropping the book entirely at some points. If you have gotten used to the novels on webnovel with their extremely lucky protagonists stepping on a random pile of cow shit and then finding a God artefact within the pile of shit (and happening way more than once) then this novel will be fine with you. In the case that you don't mind about the random bullshit encounters that he has I would give the story 4/5 otherwise its a 3/5.

Things to note: -Apparently, spell casters do not need to eat for some odd reason we are not aware of. I mean Mc would get trapped in a cave or something, cultivate straight for 6 months..... what? no food? bathroom break? -MC does not seem to care about his family when he's outside. They dont even enter his mind. He only goes back to them every 2 years or so -The Mc and some of the characters are somewhat bipolar. Like the MC would ask someone one a question coldly later and then smile warmly at them the next. Or the MC would frown upon having normal humans as weaponized pets then get his would weaponized slave... -The so called "Matrix" is only good for remembering the spell models and storing them. I mean why give the thing such a powerful name like Matrix when that's all it does. -The time skips are tooooooo looooooong. I mean just to cultivate and increase his mind power, 6 months would have gone already -There is no soul to this book. Reading it is just not captivating to me. Like you end up finding out that things are missing in the book, like there's not enough detail in the book only on the spell would you see some detail which can be complicated and you just want to skip it. P.S. I really didn't like chapter 324. the guy literally took children from their parents and changed their names to his own so they will serve his family just because they possess the spell casters skill???????????????? That's vile and sick!

Good novel, but a rushed end. Still I’d recommend it if you dont mind deus-ex machina saving the main character a few times, certain plot treads being left unanswered, and can overlook some “smart”decisions made by the main character

This is essentially another copy of the wizard world and warlock of the Magus world. MC is selfish, has a microchip, and pursues power. The start is quite deceptive, MC has a family and friends, he behaves ok but as soon as he comes in contact with magic everything goes down the drain. Also the chip appears at chapter 20 for some reason, and the story takes a turn into the edgy stuff. MC is overpowered right off the bat with better spell models magically improved by the chip with no reason, and a magic item, allowing him to fight and win over more experienced spell casters. After MC gets rapey out of the blue, I decided to drop the novel cause I had enough. I am not fond of selfish/evil MCs already, and if they are so badly written I don't really see why continuing. There's nothing really new compared to similar novels, and it definitely doesn't tells the story better.

From the start the plot was great. Characters were very well developed. Enjoyed the trials and rise to power over a well organized and thought out system. MC had means to get around the system but not in too crazy a way. A believable way to rise above the convention laid out by the rules of the world. Author does a good job setting and resolving the conflicts that push the story forward. About halfway through the story there is a shift, changed the MC rising from overcoming hardships to a very simple solution. It just seems to lose a lot of the intensity from the earlier chapters. Even though the development of the story seems to really lack near the end I enjoyed the characters enough to read all the way to the end. Author wrote a good story and I recommend the read. I believe that future works from this will only improve. Thanks for the journey into a glorious land, city, void zone, latitude cosmos, void sea, and a perfected illusionary world!

Cautious MC does not so cautious, idiotic things. Forced plot progress Inconsistent character actions of course, Plot Armor. I am to some extent ok with plot Armor since it's a story. But how can a character behave differently fron his/her personality so much? The cautious mc takes action without caution at an almost critical time.
