This actually will be my 1st time writing a review for a book, so pls forgive my shortcomings.
Anyways this book is masterpiece, I'm currently at ch205 so I know want I'm saying. It puts all other post-apocalyptic novels I've read to shame.
The mc is highly observant and adaptable, I won't outright call him an antihero but more of a free spirited person who would stop at nothing to protect his interests and those he cares about.
The author breathes life into the characters by proving time and time again that there's more to them than just occupying spots in the story, even the thoughts of mob characters are fleshed out and easily related to.
The world building is steadily progressing, I believe at the end of the novel it would have no words to describe it.
PS. I didn't directly talk about events that occur to avoid spoilers
Currently reviewing at 500 chapters in.
I am beyond happy that such novel exists in my life. I’ve read a lot different types of fiction stories and what I believe that separates good from bad, is the quality at which the author describes the story they are trying to convey.
Right from the beginning you feel like you are the charcter, you feel like you are immersed on earth where an apocalypse begins.
The way the author explains the history of the characters, their goals and most importantly, their thought process is immaculate. The way you can compare the strength of characters to the real world (physics standpoint), the way you can close your eyes and imagine the scenery around the characters, the way you can sympathize with the actions, motives and decisions the characters make is just unreal.
I could ramble on about how amazing this novel is, how I wish it was complete, is a waste of your time. You should be reading this book!
Of course this is just personal opinion but regardless I hope you give it a try! :)
I rarely write reviews, which already proves that a story worth writing one left a big impression (positive or negative). At this point I read 701 chapters and I don't regret a second of it.
Writing quality: A comparrison to the Webnovel standard would just be wrong. In 700 chapters there are barely any gramatical or spelling errors.
Updating Stability: 2 daily updates each with at least 2000 words and great quality. In the 2-3 Months since I caught up not a single update was missed. Bonus chapters are rare, which considering the already insane sceddule is not an issue.
Character design: The characters are neither the most unique nor generic. What realy makes them great to me is their development and growth. Each main character gets enough spotlight and even sidecharacters are rarely forgotten. The development is rather slow without stagnating, making it natural and considering the slow pacing of the novel in general (not even 4 months after 700 chapters), this totaly makes sence. Another thing I like a lot is that the plotarmor is not too obvious/extreme, nor are the characters stupid for the sake of plot.
Story development: As said before, the pacing is realy slow, which I personaly love. While MC becomes one of the strongest realy fast, the story manages to still be balanced and present good chalenges, without feeling forced.
World background: A clear defined powersystem, a fantasticaly described world and a intriguing history, which gives room to theorize. All of that without logical errors.
The system: Every living being has acces to the system, which is designed to help them, reach a better evolutionary stage. There are few elements to the system, which apear to be based on luck (i.e. loot orbs or skill scroles). Those are minor and not as luckdependent as they apear in the beginning.
The community: I have yet to find another community as active and interactive as this one on webnovel, and by now I look foreward not only to the chapters, but the commentsection as well.
Overall 6/5 easily the best webnovel I found so far and even my second Favorit book/novel/mange etc. in general.
One thing I like about this bookI like the fact that when something bad happens to the person he takes revenge and kill that person or do some type of discipline he on never just say oh oh it's okay better things that happen later and then some magically having just cuz he saved that personlike saf-instant somebody betray on and then he in the forgiven them and later down line that person saved his life I feel like that's bad writing if you want to be realistic humans are horrible creatures kill it person at the beginning right something else in the future also on chapter 700
Story is amazing and I anticipate for every new chapter though i am really fed up with the way author writes , he uses so much filler words that is useless words to make the chapter bigger and it makes me infuriated and i once dropped the novel halfway through if he fixes it would be better.
This is a great novel with a great flow of events and well written characters. The foreshadowings are done very well too.
The romance is also great with no abrupt beauties falling for the MC here and there.
My only gripe is that Bai Zemin is taking too long to level up to second order, though I understand that he is an irregular and his ascension quest is very tough. I'm just scared of how long it is going to take him to catch up to beings like Lucifer and Medes. But every chapter is still a banger.
So I've been reading this novel for months already, almost a year.
All I can say is that story is good, updating stability is top notched. Unfortunately what I'm concerned is that how the author describe things, like introducing the character's appearance, describing the character's thoughts, putting more unnecessary words making making the story less enjoyable.
And also other thing that I'm concerned with is that the story is kinda progress slow, author just keeps giving MC more power ups.
Power scales are good, I can see that the author really put a lot of time to it.
I advice the author to make the story progress more.
@Xietan this book is golden, I've literally gotten o the point here I wait every one week to read the latest updates. This book is so good and you are an amazing author and I just have one request and I dont mind sending gifts or power stones for it just please make this book a harem, it would be criminal not to ...😔🙏🙏🙏 I know I speak for a vast majority of your fans when i say this. Great book all the way
I ultimately rank this a 5 out of 5 with only writing quality at 4 (I'd rank it at 4 a d a half if I could). The Authors English is quite good, but there are some grammatical errors and differences that can be seen as the writing progresses.
Personally, I quite love the story and the characters that make it up. It's well done and thought out, the world building is great and the power levelling is well done.
For real, the world bulding in this novel is a masterclass, and the character development is extremely good and natural, in addition the fight scenes are super hype to read, in general Bloodwarlock is super cativating and fun to read
I really love this novel with all my heart, keep with the good work author!!
Haven’t had the chance to finish reading this novel (the latest chapter), but I decided to share my thoughts of this marvelous book with y‘all. After reading 300 chapters, I was (and still am) hooked to this book. The worldbuilding is amazing and manages to continue on throughout the novel. Just when you think it’s done, the author manages to throw in a little more information that piques the reader’s interest. It’s also done in a way that makes sense—the background of the world is cohesive and you can tell that the author did not just throw in random things. It’s interwoven into the plot which makes it rather interesting as well. There is quite a bit of “empire-building” so if you like that, definitely read haha.
Onto the characters. One of the reasons I found this work an addicting read was the characters. Unlike many apocalyptic novels (especially of the Chinese variety), the characters are not one-dimensional. They are made real and *gasp* have character development. Not all of them, but that is expected since that quite reflects human nature (some people just don’t change). However, because of how attached I am to some of the characters, I wished they could be fleshed out even more (who doesn’t want to know more about their favorite characters), but yeah. Love the characters. Especially the mc and fl. 😎
TLDR: A wondrous novel with intricate worldbuilding, engaging plot and real (sometimes scarily powerful, but hot) characters in an apocalyptic world.
(Disclaimer: i only read about 300 something chapters)
this novel is meh. It was cool at the beginning, but then it went from a cold mc and his own personal power growth to just army building and nonsense harem most of the time. The power progression of the mc is also absolutely bonkers, he takes forever to make breakthroughs and the requirements to make them are outright ludicrous. what's the point of realms and orders if you can just skip them and kill beyond your order? at first it gave you quite the dopamine rush reading these type of david vs goliath encounters, but then you realize how dumb the power system is. also, never once cared for the whole succubus partner deal, so that was also one of the things that put me off.
This book will probably go on for 1500+ chaps AT least considering the fact that Bai Zemin is still first order.
Used to love the book for how the relationships b/w people were forming but 600 chaps in (personally) don't like the direction things have taken in that regard.
Lillith keeps "muttering" stuff while the ice princess keeps "thinking stuff nobody could guess about"
too many descriptions of how beautiful they are or how bright Bai zemins black eyes shine. like stop and move on please.
Liliths actions never make ANY sense.
Good work on describing character as 30% of this novel is all about character description. Good details, this author can make a good slice of life novel. Use real religion. Complete anti christ novel. If u r Chinese u might real enjoy it but other especially Christian would not be able to enjoy it. If just the anti Christ part was removed it would have been lot more enjoyable. It's my honest review. And my own opinion.
there are some parts where the author is just blatantly lazy, and some where it's a bit forced, overall it ain't bad but it isn't the best either, a few cliches, but the author being perfect is just not really good for me, but his rational thinking is a chefs kiss, but still, mc is litteraly a perfect being and I hate it, everything is set in stone, mc rarely has shortcomings, +he solves it easily, read this book if there's nothing else
I get that you can write whatever you want, but it's really necessary to abord religions stuff? Why go to a road that really offends the largest religion worldwide? I'm so disappointed I lost my time. Please, put a tag and warn that your story is biased against Christians or other religions (I don't know because I've stopped at chapter 25)
Nearly 700 chapters as of writing this and the only problem I have is that there are supposedly 10 levels of power. But the MC is still at level 1 after 700 chapters, which is absolutely ridiculously slow. I get that the author is trying to build the world but it's too slow. Maybe at 4000 chapters the MC might reach level 5 lol. But other than that the author is brilliant at describing the world and the characters have actual depth to them which is great to see.
This novel is really amazing. Great world building, and we actually get realistic side characters with well fleshed out personalities and back stories. There's honestly nothing I can find to complain about, it's one of the best apocalypse novels I've come across.
The only thing I have to question is the pacing of the MC's growth. We are almost 700 chapters in and the mc is still stuck at peak 1st order(although he can somewhat fight beings at early 4th order). So far we've seen beings who are at 8th order. If the mc takes this long to break out of 1st order then how long will he take to get to 8th order, when things will get more difficult the higher he goes?
I don't mind a long story that's well written, but, with how high of a bar the author set so far, it will be challenging to write a story which is few thousand chapters and keep the same high quality work that we are currently getting. There's numerous worlds being slowly unraveled and explained as we go along and he hasn't explored any of them yet, so there's a lot to look forward to.
People might argue and say "but even if his order is low he can still fight higher levelled people." That in itself is a problem. What if they get to some place where you need to be above a certain level to enter? All his friends and subordinates would then enter and leave him even though he's the most powerful one(but then of course, author won't add something like that, it's like shooting himself in the foot. Or even if he does he'll just create some plot convenience that will allow him to enter because of his 'pure soul power')
I honestly just hope the author can keep the current energy and not screw this novel up. I hope it doesn't become something that drones on and on and causes readers to lose interest.
– Writing Quality
5/5. Simply nice, the words flowed well. The writing was clear and there's none of too much technical words. The Author was able to convey what he wanted to.
– Story Development
4/5. I'm a bit unwilling to rate it like that since it won't be perfect anymore, but my personality just doesn't agree with it. The development was actually smooth, though for impatient people, this might be a little too slow for them.
– Character Design
5/5! The design was simply good! I love how each characters' development cause them to become who they are right now and would be in the future. There are constantly many characters adding as chapters passed by, some of them stuck to me while others don't. I really like how I didn't feel irritated or sad while seeing them walk their paths, it just feels perfect.
– Updating Stability
5/5! I actually reread this for the second time because the first time I read this there's only little chapters of what it has. But when I like looked back I'm like: ●—●! I'm a bit shook by how fast it was. Though, I got cliffhanger after I caught up.
– World Background
5/5. This is simply nice, and I like how the setting wasn't just limited to Earth. That through Lilith, we can see what Baimin might encounter in the future.
– I love this one the moment I saw it. I'm excited to see their developments! Of course I'm still more looking forward to Baimin upgrading to 2nd order. I been waiting for that for like, I don't know, 300 or 400 chapters?
– I'm actually cool about how romance is not the main of the novel, I'm more inclined to see Baimin's journey to the top.
– I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT IS BAIMIN'S CONNECTION TO THAT PERSON. And those dreams, I'm more focused on the rainbow baby dream.
– At the first of the novel, I'm also curious if it's harem or 1V1. But after, I just didn't care cause I'm more focused on the action. Though, on my view, I just don't want to see the girls hurt over this.
– I unintentionally typed a tini tiny spoiler, but they're vague, so no problem.
– Your sign to read this, recommended.
The story is good, and the exciting fighting scenes and complicated human emotions are well-expressed. The concept and its explanations were described excellently. However, there are instances when the author tends to overly describe things. Details are good, but too much will just make it look like fillers. Some scenes or paragraphs could have been described with fewer yet concise words, but it was written so long even if they didn't contribute to the story. For me, details are not everything, description and narration using few but concise words are more attractive.
An awesome book, although I wish it could come out in volumes because the cliffhangers really keep you on your toes.
I am looking forward to what the main character will become but I kind of hope the unification of the country becomes a time skip. For some reason I also love the parts where he is forging or joking around before a raid or action.
