“Hello? Is anybody there?” I yell and my voice echos off the walls of the cave. I hold my sword out in front of me as I walk. “Blaire? Maxton?” I say. I stop walking and look around. “Where am I?” “Tressa? Nobody seems to be in here, the coast is clear. Come in.” I tell my dragon. She walks inside and I climb onto her back. I take out a few glow sticks, shake them and drop them as we go. “We need to find a away out. I don’t even know how we got here.” I tell Tressa. ~~~~~~ I’m Princess Draya and I come from a world of Kingdoms. I’m from the Dragon Kingdom but there are many different ones. There are wild Dragons dropping in at my Kingdom and all everyone is ordered to do, is kill them. I get that they’re dangerous but I’m a Dragon Princess and I just can’t have it. My best friend’s name is Blaire and she’s a Knight that guards one of the other Kingdoms, my other friend Maxton guards my Kingdom. The three of us work together to “kidnap” all the wild dragons before they’re killed but don’t we need to figure out who’s behind all of this in the first place? I think of becoming a Knight but will we be able to pull it off without anyone finding out?
When every living being goes to sleep, they become Travelers. This means that part of what is called “Conscience” detaches from the rest, carrying us towards worlds located in parts still unknown of the Universe. Many of these places have things that inhabit only our dreams. Worlds where physics is different. Where time doesn’t work the way we know it. Where magic exists and mythological creatures walk on the surface. Some Travelers can return to their bodies and wake up with the memory of a pleasant dream. Others are stuck in that limbo, unable to return home. And there is one category above all others. The ones that are strong enough to create bodies and completely separate themselves from the life they had before going to this new place. These Travelers start to inhabit this new world and create a new life, without ever returning to the place where they came from. This is a story about these Travelers and their trials in a world very similar to ours, but which is filled with things that exist only in our imagination.

I gazed upon the ethereal face looking back at me. The clear water that reflects it catches my attention and I realize how such purity completes the picturesque view I'm basking my eyes in. For more than a fracture of a second, I felt envy run through my veins. Oh, to have a seemingly-perfect life. I tapped on the reflected tattoo, water dancing in ripples under my touch. "Hiraeth," I muttered. almost inaudible, drowned by nature's very own whispers. Tattoos don't need to have meaning. Some just have them because it just feels right. In my case, I guess both conventions apply. Hiraeth. a Welsh word that holds different meanings. It can mean homesickness of a home you can never return to, or never was. It may also mean nostalgia, an earnest longing or desire, or a sense of regret. I had this inked on me for a reason. Maybe it was the first as I've always longed for a place where I can feel safe, where I can draw strength. My querencia. It could be the second. Memories have never left me since it flooded not only my mind but also my heart. What I had wasn't perfect. But it was definitely more than enough. But I've also yearned for something. Perhaps recognition? Attention? Appreciation? Love? The last one... possibly. For the sole reason that I regret meeting you. I regret being drawn by your eyes and your heart. I regret a lot of things in my life but the one I truthfully feel a wave of remorse for... was loving you. I saw the reflection of a bitter smile that formed on my lips. Perhaps it was all of those reasons. Lies. Betrayals. Pain. Excruciating pain. Death. It all leads back to you. For a moment, I stupidly and blindly assumed you were my haven. Turns out, you were gonna unleash the hell I didn't expect. One word holds thousands of memories. One word describes the infinite emptiness in me. One word.... Hiraeth
